The World Of Cryrotherapy
One of the latest new health trends that's been surging in popularity around the world is cryotherapy. There are currently a number of cryotherapy clinics that have been established, with new ones opening up all the time. It's become popular with everyone from athletes and celebrities, to socialites, and now the average citizen is starting to venture to try it too.
Whether being used to help heal someone's muscles and enhance recovery after a strenuous sports game, or assisting in the treatment of cancer patients, many people are using this therapy for different personal reasons; but with an overall goal of better health.
What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is a type of therapy that is believed to help aid recovery and reduce inflammation by blasting the goer with extreme cold, using nitrogen gas, while they stand in a sauna-like tank. It's a technique that has been used now for many decades to help reduce inflammation in everyone from athletes to those suffering with arthritis or worse.
Individuals pay anywhere from $60 to $100 for a session where they feel like they are freezing for several minutes. The cold is able to penetrate at least half a millimetre into the skin which works together to prompt a full-body response. It's said that the body can potentially burn up to 800 calories post treatment, so many individuals in the future might opt for using this as a weight-loss method as well.
There are also claims that this therapy can help with quicker surgical recovery time, assist with painful joints, potentially alleviate depression, anxiety, fatigue, and much more. It's no wonder that a large number of these new spas are opening up around the world.
Although there are no long-term studies to back up these bold claims offered by the therapy and the machines are still unregulated by the FDA so the organization has warned spas against making such claims. Despite the "risk" surrounding the therapy however, people continue to line-up to shell out hundreds of dollars in order to freeze themselves.
