STAIRCASE, A FORGOTTEN ALLY

The word staircase comes from the Latin scala: Construction designed to communicate several spaces located at different heights. It consists of steps and may have several sections separated by breaks, plateaus or landings.

Stairs must be raised and lowered maintaining a uniform rhythm to avoid falls. For this, its slope must be constant, that is, the geometric ratio between the depth of the tread (footprint) and the height of this (riser) must be constant.

If you do not climb stairs I'm often sure that when you do, you can notice that parts of your body get tired easily. If you go up and down repeatedly in a day, when you don't do it every day, you may feel pain the next day. You see, then, how intense this exercise is. If you decide to do it daily, it can brings you many benefits, for example:

1.-Prevents obesity
2.-Decreases and prevents high blood pressure
3.-Prevents heart disease and stroke
4.-It helps you stay in shape
5.-Contributes to create an adequate cardiovascular function
6.-Strengthens and tones the muscles of the legs

Advances in general terms and those of technology in particular that have been installed in today's society have facilitated our lives in various ways, for example: escalators, sliding belts, elevators, various means of transport; but its continuous use together with a work that we do seated, can turn them into enemies of our health in the medium and long term.

There are good reasons to climb stairs

Two-thirds of our lives are devoted to being in the workplace, so it becomes very important to exercise during the day.

If you have stairs where you live or work or in a place near those sites you only have to upload and download them for 30 minutes on a daily basis to obtain health benefits, and if you can not dedicate 30 minutes to this activity, you can do it in small intervals of time that at the end of the day add the recommended 30 minutes.

Going up and down stairs helps you release the stresses that cause stress, also, being a physical activity helps you feel more flexible and active.
To climb stairs every day, you do not have to pay, you do not pollute and although it may seem a lie, in most cases using them you save more time than using the elevator.

In the current times in Venezuela due to the shortage of spare parts of all kinds (of vehicles and also of elevators), the high cost of tires (tires), the absence in streets and avenues of public transport vehicles that make that we have to travel always on foot the distances that we used to comfortably sit before, let's see the positive part: Now we are doing more physical exercise and this translates into good health.

Of course, I mean walking through possible distances. When you live in Villa de Cura and work in Cagua, Maracay or San Juan de los Morros, history is another very different one, but let's appeal to resilience and look for the good that we can rescue from the situation-country in which we find ourselves.

And in countries where the pace of life continues normally, we choose the conventional stairs to the mechanical ones, to the elevator and we prefer the walk to the taking of a vehicle when the distance to travel makes it possible.
