Home remedies for toothache
Continuing with the home remedies part, today we will see the remedies for toothache.
Toothache is one of the most painful of all pains as the nerves from the teeth are directly connected with that of the brain. that is why I come across many patients in my practice who say that pray to God not to give toothache to anyone in the world.
Toothache due to infected tooth mostly aggravates at night specially when asleep due to effect of gravity.
If you sleep on the side of the infected tooth, you will have much pain at night.
Imagine how bad it would be to spend the whole night with a bad toothache and waiting for the day to rise and get the help of a doctor...
So today we will see the home remedies for toothache to help in such situations.
- Clove oil
Clove oil is the best remedy and easily available at home.
You can apply a cotton dipped in clove oil to the affected area. Even you can use whole clove and chew it a bit to extract the oil from it.
Egenol from the clove will soothe the nerve.
Believe me it will give you miraculous effect in case of pain due to infected tooth.
- Asafetida
Apply some paste of asafetida mixed with saline.
That will give you instant relief.
- Gargle with lukewarm water
Mix some salt to warm water and swish for at least 30 seconds. This will clean the debris from the affected tooth and will reduce the swelling.
- Rinse with hydrogen peroxide
Swish with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Spit it and then swish with normal water several time.
Hydrogen peroxide helps kill bacteria and relieves discomfort.
You can use apple cidar vinegar also.
- Icepack
Applying ice pack over the cheeck of the affected side with help soothing nerves.
- Brush your teeth
Brushing your teeth will remove the debris from the affected tooth and relieve the discomfort.
- Tea bag
Apply used peppermint tea bag to the affected area.
Tea will help numb the nerves.
- Garlic
Garlic will kill the bacteria and relieve pain.
Raw onion is also as effective.
- Consult a dentist
Remember, these are only remedies for any emergency situation.
