Anything is detrimental to health if taken in the wrong amount - even too much water can kill you ;-) Plus if it was toxic or poisonous wouldn't all the people doing the cleanse be experiencing a decrease in health instead of an increase?
100% gum spirits of turpentine is not the same as refined turpentine. It is oil distilled from pine or spruce trees.
