Antibiotics - When You Don't Need It!

in #health7 years ago

So it usually happens - yesterday you are full of energy and cheerful, ready to conquer new peaks and fulfill any task! But, next morning you hardly get up from your bed... In a sleepy state, you go to take a shower and have coffee. The whole body aches, as if yesterday you ran 50 kilometers, and then fought with the sumo champion.

Taken a coffee, you crawl to your computer to look Steemit's feed and you realize that your head hurts too... Hard thinking, when it was yesterday you could get drunk, you understand that yesterday you did not drink a bottle of beer. And then you sneeze, and then again... and again... Heck! Opening a pack of napkins with one hand, the other you take a thermometer. Well, yes, the temperature is increased...

All would be nothing, but you can not be sick! - You tell yourself, and taking your First Aid Kit.

Well, what most of us will take in this case? Antibiotic course! In our time, antibiotics are the answer to any question! It helps from all diseases and miraculously puts us on our feet in a couple of days...

It's a pity that this is complete nonsense!

Ask yourself - the more often we get sick? Flu! It's all heard, and the answer arises by itself. Yes, I perfectly understand that self-diagnosis, without having a proper education - it's bad! But no one likes to lose their time... And often each of us just drank pills, without going to the doctor.

So, let's get back to the flu. Influenza is a viral disease. And antibiotics are powerless against viruses. In addition to the uselessness of antibiotics in such matters as the treatment of viruses, antibiotics are harmful, in the form of weakening immunity. What only benefit the viruses!

This one really glad that you love antibiotics :)

In the end, for good reason there are antiviral drugs, right? There is no single universal answer to all questions, friends! Similarly, there is no one drug against all diseases...

The information below is not always true! This averaged data!

Most often, viral diseases can be distinguished by the following features:

  • Whole body aches (With bacterial disease, the pain is concentrated in one place)

  • Headaches in the frontal part (With bacterial disease, usually no headaches)

  • Snot

  • Sore throat

In any case, do not be lazy to go to the doctor! If improper treatment is possible complications...

Be healthy!

Sincerely, falling apart Terry Craft...

I feel like that now. The virus got me too!

Sad to hear... Be healthy, friend!

As a pharmacist, I wholeheartedly agree with this post. Over prescribing of antibiotics can be detrimental for everyone. When there is a valid use, don't just go for the strongest, newest antibiotic. For a skin infection, Keflex is often good enough. For UTIs, Bactrim and in some cases Amoxicillin are sufficient. There are some broad spectrum antibiotics like Levaquin and Cipro that can eradicate a wide range of bacterial infections but using our latest broad spectrum antibiotics can accelerate bacterial resistance.

The rate of bacteria becoming resistant to best antibiotics is alarming. We simply are not finding new drugs to fight these infections as fast as they are becoming resistant.

Another important note is to always finish your medication. If a doctor prescribed you a 10 day course of antibiotics and you start to feel better by day 3 and stop taking it, you will only contribute to this problem. We want to make sure the bacteria is gone. Not completing your regimen may not totally eradicate the bacteria. Not only are they not completely gone, they now have been exposed to the antibiotic and can mutate and become resistant, not good for you and those around you who have to deal with this potential super bug.

Stay safe and healthy

I agree with the post, and your reply. Very strong second and third argument. I have seen cases where patients did not complete their antibiotic treatment and returned to the hospital one week later with an even more severe infection than before.

Keep spreading the word!

(Please be careful to suggest types of antibiotics for some diseases. For example nitrofurantoin is the first choice in the Netherlands (bactrim second) because of very fast elimination via the kidneys and low serum levels. You should refrain from using amoxicillin because of high resistance levels of the associated bacteria (it also destroys the Lactobacillus in the female genital tract which prevents UTI's).)

In third world countries, doctors prescribe anti-biotics are prescribed as soon as the patient enters his room. I myself had a chronic case of tonsillitis and used to be on anti-biotics for 6-7 months in an year. Started taking natural products and remedies and not only it has helped me control the sore throat, but it has also helped me feel more energetic. May be the feeling is only psychological or maybe these medications were making me lousy for real. Glad medicines are no more part of my life. I also suggest natural remedies to my friends and family.

As for medicine, Russia is a third world country... at least for those who can not afford private clinics.

When my son was very small, doctors for more than two years assigned him all kinds of antibiotics and could not cure... but it turned out that the snot was due to an allergy.

During this time they simply destroyed his immunity: (

I hope your son is better now. We need to look beyond conventional methods of treatment and find solutions like natural herbs to help with our problems

Thank you, now he's better!

Good info here, thanks. Antibiotics can really be dangerous to you if you abuse it...rather be careful..thanks

I would never take an anti-biotic if I feel tired or exchaused.. anti-biotics make me feel dizzy and sleepy!

I try to avoid them as much as I can because it's better for the body to heal up without these damned biotics.. if your body gets used to them then sweet goodbye you won't be able to live without them

Not entirely correct, but I caught your thought... Unfortunately, in certain cases, antibiotics can not be avoided!

If it's some cold then I never touch an antibitoc, knowing I'll be ok in a few days after having some good lemon juice and honey!

If it was something with my teeth however I wouldnt hesitate having an anti-biotic

Yeah! Vitamin C - Powerful Thing! I Agree with you!

In Finland you get painkillers described for every diagnosis.

If it does not hurt, it's okay? Bad...

another creation that "slave" the human being....

Could you explane what you mean exactly? How do antibiotics enslave people?

human are to dependent on these antibiotics....

I agree with you. In South korea, almost every doctors prescribe the antibiotics. Especially at viral nasopharyngitis. The reason of prescription is "To prevent the pneumonia or other bacterial infection" ...

Doctors do not want to be responsible... "Cover their rear" Unfortunately, at the expense of our health.

Doctors are vital

People should not take antibiotics without a proper medical diagnostic after blood exams... It is very dangerous, specially if you have an infection and take the wrong antibiotics... Health should not be taken easy...

You're absolutely right!
