.:Type 2 Diabetics - Villian or Victim
What is type 2 diabtes? For you who don't know, it is a condition in which the body is insulin resistant and will not be able to unlock the cell effectively to use the glucose for energy. The pancreas itself not being able to produce enough insulin as well alongside the cells instead of "using energy" are choosing to "store energy" in what happens to be the "fat" cell.
What is insulin and how does it work? Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas. If you have a normal working pancreas then it will produce this hormone every time your body creates glucose from carbohydrates, and puts it into the blood stream for energy. Insulins main job is to take that glucose out of the blood stream and place it into cells to use for energy. Otherwise storing it for later use - it will store it in your muscles and "fat" cells and around fatty organs. Your pancreas continues to produce this hormone until the blood sugar levels drop.
*For Example : - The more glucose in the blood, the more insulin is produced until it lowers the glucose in the blood and Insulins job is done.

From the data seen on Diabetes Australia it states the following costs associated with diabtetes -
"The total annual cost for Australians with type 2 diabetes is up to $6 billion including healthcare costs,
the cost of carers and Commonwealth government subsidies. The average annual healthcare cost per person with diabetes is $4,025 if there are no associated complications. However this can rise to as much as $9,645 in people with both micro- and macrovascular complications"
Along with this about how to prevent it -
*"Primary prevention is aimed at stopping the development of type 2 diabetes
through a healthy diet and lifestyle or medication.
Early intervention with intensive lifestyle changes in people with pre-diabetes
can reduce the risk of developing diabetes by nearly 60% over a three-year period,
and is estimated to produce a lifetime healthcare cost
saving of around $1087 per person.*
Looking at all the statistical data it looks expensive for the Australian Tax Payer along side looking bleak and really uncomfortable for many Australians (To point out a fact as well - why alienate Aboriginals by making it a statistic different from the rest, doesn't really need to be mentioned as a highlight point of the first page of a national article..?) Anyway, reading through this comprehensive amount of jargon, cheesy photos and just regurgitated blah blah.. lets move on..

We love putting people into categories especially "fat" people! We have a whole market dedicated to the fat people, fat burners, diet pills, "healthy isles", gym memberships, TV shows, Dr's, pharmaceutical companies love this shit!
What if we are wrong about diabetes - much like we are wrong about what we eat?
What inspired this post was this video he explains that quite possibly the reaction from cell resistance is the cause of the "fat" not the other way around - the fat causes the resistance!
This makes more sense then the current version and if you read through the diabetes page that is linked above, it just blames poor diet and exercise.. so really, people in this situation are at the mercy of there body!
Before throwing shade, stop and think!
