Sadly some doctors, especially the older generations, tend to prescribe antibiotics way too much and ofentimes even in situations they won't really help. (Like a common flu that really shouldn't be treated with antibiotics unless it gets really really really bad.)
Not only do you unnecessarily stress your natural flora by taking antibiotics for every little ailment but it might also lead to various resistances of which already exist way too many.
Just finding more and newer antibiotics can't be the solution for that since many of the newfound antibiotic drugs tend to be toxic not only to the bacteria but also partially to the human body...
Doctors just shouldn't prescribe any antibiotic carelessly and even less the reserve antibiotics. Those should also not be used in animal farming because in the end we're creating our own problems by doing so.
