3 Newcomer Questions

I have a few general logistic and etiquette questions. I'm a baby Steemian, so any help is much appreciated!

  1. If people continue to receive comments and upvotes past the first week an entry is posted, will they continue to receive points/steem/whatever from it, or does the entry become unviable? I ask because I commented on someone's article recently that they'd posted about a month ago and wondered afterwards if they would get any benefit from it (besides community building).

  2. Does commenting and upvoting lose its value if I engage in a lot of different posts?

  3. Is Steemit Chat a part of Steemit? Or is it a separate platform I need to register for?

Thanks so much!!

Once you post You have Seven days To accumulate rewards on that post. After seven days is over, People can upVote What's you will no longer Receive rewards for its.

Commenting and upVoting Constantly Will not means you lose value.

Yes steaming chats as part of steemit

Thank you so much for your help :) There's so much to learn here!

I am relatively new to Steemit and had the same questions but if you read the FAQ you will learn a lot about the platform. As far as voting is concerned you can lose voting power if you vote too much. Every vote on a post uses about 2% of your voting power and dropping below 80% your votes don'reward as much of your SP. this section of the FAQ explains it better but i went down to 40% just upvoting everything and the rewards being shown dropped because of it. https://steemit.com/faq.html#What_is_my_voting_power

Thank you for the clarification! I read the FAQ and was a bit confused by it. There is so much to learn about Steem Power!
