Atopic dermatitis, or skin allergy, is one of the most common conditions seen in infants and children. This disease can affect about 10%–30% of children. Most of the time, it starts in childhood and can persist into adulthood. Additionally, it can be passed down from parents through heredity.

Skin rashes can begin at various ages:
Infants under 12 months – 50%
Children aged 1–5 years – 80%

Causes of Atopic Dermatitis
The cause of skin allergies is usually complex. However, the following factors can trigger the condition:

Almonds
Tree fruits
Beans

Fish
2. Airborne Elements:
Dust
Pollen from flowers
Grass pollen
Animal dander
Rodent dust
3. Other Factors:
Microbial infections
Low environmental humidity
Extreme heat and sweat
Skin-irritating substances, for example:
Clothes made from animal fur/leather
Glass fibers
Certain soaps
Perfumes
Symptoms of Atopic Dermatitis
Symptoms can vary depending on the person's age:
In infants:
On the face
Extensor surfaces of hands and feet
Chest and abdomen
In children:
Flexural folds of hands and feet (elbow and knee creases)
In youth and adults:
Hands and feet
Knees
Eyebrows
Chest and back
Known Symptoms:
Dry, scaly, and cracking skin
Itching — usually worsens at night
Skin scratching marks or peeling
