1.Ginger.

IMG_20241128_165425.jpg

Ginger is one of the spices that is very easy to get in Indonesia. Generally, ginger is often used as an ingredient to make cooking spices. However, ginger is also often used as a natural ingredient in herbal medicine, one of which is to help overcome respiratory health problems and also to help overcome pneumonia problems.

Ginger is known to have gingerol compounds which are useful for softening clotted phlegm and relieving the throat. This is very useful for helping air circulation in the respiratory tract to be smoother.

The gingerol compound in ginger has also been shown to be effective in suppressing inflammation of the respiratory tract. By consuming ginger regularly and routinely, respiratory health will improve.

  1. Turmeric.

Turmeric is also a spice that is often used in various dishes. However, turmeric is also used as an herbal remedy to overcome respiratory problems and as a natural remedy to cleanse the lungs.

Turmeric is known to have anti-inflammatory properties that can thin excess phlegm and mucus in the throat. Turmeric also has antimicrobial properties that are very important to prevent bacteria from growing in the respiratory tract, causing respiratory infections.

The yellow color of turmeric comes from the compound curcumin which is an antioxidant that is very useful for helping to maintain lung health effectively.

  1. Star anise.

IMG_20241128_165701.jpg

Star anise is also a spice that is often used in traditional cooking, especially in Asia. There are many health benefits contained in this spice, one of which is to maintain immunity.

In addition, star anise is also often used to overcome respiratory problems. Among them are to treat flu, coughs and colds. In this spice there are antioxidant compounds and shikimic acid that can fight bacteria that cause infections such as sore throats.

Star anise is also often used as a natural breath freshener. There are several ways to use it, including making a star anise tea. In addition, we can use a few drops of star anise oil to mix into hot water, then inhale the steam that comes out. This will provide an aromatic sensation that can relieve the respiratory tract and overcome nasal congestion.

Conclusion: The three herbs above (ginger, turmeric and star anise) have very good benefits for respiratory health, especially for relieving flu symptoms, colds, coughs (not treating but relieving). In addition, it is also useful for overcoming bad breath problems, cleaning the respiratory tract, and can prevent pneumonia.

To apply the three types of herbs, we can make them into herbal drinks or in Indonesia it is often called traditional herbal medicine. By consuming it regularly, it will be useful for supporting respiratory health.

Iron Deficiency: Write three herbs that help overcome iron deficiency. Make an herbal medicine that can increase iron levels in the body. Please explain how it works in the body?

There are many types of herbs that can help with iron deficiency in the body. But here I will tell you about 3 types of herbs:

  1. Green beans.

IMG_20241128_190304.jpg

One of the herbs to increase iron is green beans. This is because green beans contain amino acids, vitamins A, B1, Vitamin C, protein, carbohydrates and fats that can increase hemoglobin or red blood cell levels.

The vitamin C content in green beans is very important to help optimal iron absorption. Consuming green beans regularly and routinely can prevent anemia.

  1. Bananas.

IMG_20241128_165641.jpg

Bananas are rich in minerals including potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, and iron. The iron content of bananas reaches 2 mg/100 gr and can be absorbed by the body almost 100%. Iron functions to support the formation of hemoglobin, so it is good for people who are deficient in red blood cells/anemia.

Bananas also have a very high vitamin C content and are important for the absorption of iron so that they can increase the formation of new red blood cells. Bananas are very suitable for consumption by people with anemia.

In addition, bananas also have benefits for facilitating metabolism in the body and this makes bananas one of the important foods to keep blood pressure stable.

  1. Avocado.

IMG_20241128_173628.jpg

Avocado is also highly recommended as a food for blood booster. Avocado has folic acid content and various types of vitamins, such as vitamin c, vitamin e and also iron which functions to form red blood cells.

Herbal concoctions for blood boosters. To make a herbal blood-boosting potion, I will use avocados which have a lot of vitamins and nutrients such as folic acid which is very important in the formation of red blood cells.
How to make one serving of avocado juice:

  • 1 medium avocado.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar.
  • Sufficient boiled water.

How avocados work to increase iron levels.

Iron: Avocados have a high iron content to help the production of red blood cells.

Folic acid: Avocados also have folic acid content which functions to increase red blood cells and can regulate blood pressure.

Vitamin C: Avocados have a lot of vitamins such as vitamin C which can speed up the absorption of iron, and this can overcome anemia.

Conclusion: By consuming avocados regularly and routinely, it will be very beneficial to support iron absorption, increase red blood cells, and can regulate blood pressure.

Blood Pressure: Write three herbs to control high blood pressure and three herbs to control low blood pressure. Explain how patients can use them in their daily lives to maintain and regulate their blood pressure. Make your choice of treatment to control blood pressure.

3 herbs to control high blood pressure:

  1. Celery.

IMG_20241128_174738.jpg

Celery is often used as an alternative herbal ingredient to lower high blood pressure or hypertension. Celery has a phthalide compound that works effectively to relax the tissue in large blood vessels.

Use in daily life:

People who suffer from high blood pressure can consume celery by cooking it into a mixture of dishes such as vegetables and soup. In addition, celery can also be made into a delicious juice drink that is useful for controlling blood pressure.

  1. Garlic.

IMG_20241128_165449.jpg

In addition to making food delicious, garlic is very useful for overcoming high blood pressure problems. This is due to the nitric oxide compound contained in garlic which is useful for widening blood vessels so that blood flows smoothly, and this will cause blood pressure to become stable.

Daily Use:

Garlic can be used as a cooking spice. It can also be mixed with various salad choices. Garlic can also be consumed raw. In general, garlic can be processed into food in many ways.

  1. Cardamom.

IMG_20241128_165550.jpg

Cardamom is a type of spice that is often used in several cooking recipes. But cardamom is also often used to make herbal concoctions to treat several types of diseases such as to relieve high blood pressure.
Cardamom contains potassium and antioxidants which are very much needed to protect the health of blood vessels and also smooth blood circulation. The diuretic effect of cardamom functions to lower blood pressure to normal.

Daily Use:

Cardamom can be mixed with tea to be used as an herbal drink. Cardamom can also be used as a spice in cooking such as curry and rendang. And there are still many uses of cardamom in daily life.

Recipe:

Here I will make an herbal concoction to control high blood pressure, namely celery juice.
Ingredients: 4 stalks of celery leaves, 1 tablespoon of sugar and warm water. How to make: Wash the celery leaves and cut them into pieces, then put them in a blender and puree. Strain into a glass and discard the pulp. Then add sugar as a sweetener. Here we can also add citrus fruits to taste to enrich the taste and to get vitamin C content.

3 herbs to control low blood pressure.

  1. Spinach leaves

IMG_20241128_165914.jpg

Spinach leaves have a high iron content which is very good for people with anemia. In addition, spinach leaves also contain folic acid and various vitamins. Spinach leaves are also believed to increase the amount of hemoglobin in the blood.

Use in everyday life:
Spinach leaves can be cooked as vegetables and are better if mixed with other ingredients that contain vitamin C such as tomatoes and limes, this will help the process of absorbing iron to be faster and more efficient.

  1. Cassava leaves

IMG_20241128_174432.jpg

Cassava leaves are also rich in iron and various minerals. The iron content in cassava leaves is very helpful in accelerating the formation of red blood cells. In addition, the nutrients contained in cassava leaves also have benefits for improving blood circulation.

Use in daily life:
Similar to spinach leaves, sweet potato leaves can also be cooked as vegetables and accompaniments to main dishes. In addition, boiled sweet potato leaf water can be used as a natural herbal drink, especially for people who are on a diet. This is because sweet potato leaves contain a lot of fiber, but are low in calories.

  1. Broccoli.

IMG_20241128_165622.jpg

Broccoli is also a vegetable that contains iron. The iron in broccoli is a type of non-heme iron, so it needs to be combined with herbs that contain other sources of vitamin C so that the absorption process can be carried out properly.

Use in daily life:
Broccoli can also be cooked as a vegetable. However, it is important to note to combine it with other types of vegetables that contain vitamin C such as tomatoes or peppers to support the iron absorption process.

Recipe:
Here I will make boiled spinach vegetables:
Ingredients: 1 bunch of spinach leaves (100 grams), 1 tomato. Shallots and garlic. Salt to taste.
How to make: Wash all ingredients thoroughly. Heat a pan, pour a little oil then saute the shallots and garlic. Add spinach, add clean water and salt. Finally add the tomato pieces.

IMG_20241128_160846.jpg

IMG_20241128_161214.jpgIMG_20241128_161244.jpgIMG_20241128_161444.jpg

IMG_20241128_165951.jpg

For the benefits of spinach leaves I have explained above. Spinach leaves contain a lot of iron that is non-hime. So in making herbal concoctions from spinach leaves, it is necessary to mix them with other types of vegetables that have vitamin C content such as tomatoes. And that's the reason I made the vegetable concoction above by combining spinach leaves with tomatoes. In addition to adding flavor, it is also very important in the process of absorbing iron.
