The heresy of idolatry: The people who live in Samaria fear for the calf-idol of Beth Aven. Hosea 10:5

The true spirituality does not only consist of teaching the good path, the righteousness, but also announcing the hidden things of God, that is, making prophecy. And this was the task of all the prophets, as spiritual sentinels, in the times of the kingdoms of Judah and Israel.
This is why the prophet Hosea, in the last days of the kingdom of Israel, taught and declared the importance of God's love, and how God loved his people like a wife; but this spiritual marriage had been corrupted by human imperfections, the heresy of idolatry had deeply penetrated many Israelites, and that is why the prophet also announced God's judgment for the infidelity of his people: "You have plowed iniquity; you have reaped injustice" Hosea 10:13. Idolatry is a heresy, because heresy is the teaching of the error, with the aggravating factor that false gods bring false teachings, and as Hosea taught, heretics, that is, those who deviate from correct teaching, the fear of god (constancy, firmness, devotion) and the law, cannot inherit blessings.
The problem of idolatry had begun in Israel when King Jeroboam, after the political schism with the Kingdom of Judah, had ordered to build golden calves in his Kingdom, so that they would worship them and not go up to Jerusalem to worship the God of Moses and Abraham. And it was for this reason that the Kingdom of Israel became highly unstable with the fall and rise of several dynasties, murders in the struggle for power became a constant in the social life of the people.
This is why Hosea in his oracles prophesied the end of the Kingdom of Israel and its worship of false gods:
"The people who live in Samaria fear
for the calf-idol of Beth Aven.
Its people will mourn over it,
and so will its idolatrous priests,
those who had rejoiced over its splendor,
because it is taken from them into exile.
It will be carried to Assyria
as tribute for the great king" Hosea 10:5-6.
