List the varieties of steamed momos available in your region. Which one is your favorite and why?

There are a couple of varieties of steamed monos available in my region especially the north central region or state capital of my country and some of the most popular ones are:

  • Chicken steamed momos: These are made with chicken fillings
  • Vegetable steamed momos: Vegetables are used for the fillings.
  • Beef steamed momos: Made with beef fillings
  • Cheese/chicken-cheese momos: Cheese are used for these momos making or a mixture of chicken and cheese.
  • Spicy (Schezwan-style) momos: These have spicy peppery fillings.
Make the Vegetable Momos or any steamed momos that are shared in the course, or make them as per your style, with a detailed step-by-step procedure along with images.

These are the ingredients I used for the making of the vegetable momos.

Ingredients:

Wheat flour - 1 cups
Finely Chopped Cabbage - 1 cups
Finely Chopped Carrots - half cup
Finely Chopped Beans - half cup
Green peas
Onion
Green chilli
Coriander seeds
Ginger
Garlic
Mustard
Oil
Coriander leaves
Salt to taste

Procedure

I first washed and cut the vegetables. The cabbage, carrot, beans, peas, onions, garlic, ginger and the leaves. I ensured all was ready.

I put oil on a fry pan and added coriander seeds and fried it with onions.

I then added the crushed ginger and garlic and sautéed it. I proceeded to add the sliced vegetables and stirred together.

I added salt and the sliced coriander leaves and mixed all together and allowed it to steem for about five minutes.

I then took flour in a plate and added the right amount of oil and kneaded it until it came together.

I allowed it to rest for five minutes before spreading it out on the slab and rolling it out.

I then used a small round cutter to cut our circular shaped for my momos.

I took the cut outs one after the other, made a depression in them and acoop some vegetables into them and wrap. I repeated the same process until all the momos were wrapped.

I then put some water into a pot. Oiled my steam plate and places the momos on it and covered it to steam for about fifteen minutes.

My delicious momos were well steam cooked and ready to be eaten.

These was my first time of making momos and they really turned out nice and delicious. I enjoyed it. I shared it with my sister and she also loved it.

I am smiling imagining myself cooking momos. Hehe, I am only good at eating them once in a while, and that too vegetarian and fried. All the best!

This is all vegetarian and steamed😅
