Warsaw Co-Founder of the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Hungary, East Germany and Poland invaded Czechoslovakia on the night of August 20, 1968. The invasion was also known as the Danube Operation. About 250,000 soldiers of the Warsaw Pact have attacked Czechoslovakia. However, the East Germany did not participate in the attack after receiving instructions from Moscow not to cross the Czechoslovakian border a few hours before the attack was launched. The attack resulted in 137 casualties and 500 more seriously injured.

In early 1968, the first secretary of the Czechoslovak Communist Party, Alexander Dubček tried to introduce reform and freedom of speech throughout the country. The Soviet Union considered it as a threat and launched diplomatic pressure. As a result the Soviet Union sent the Warsaw Pact to invade Czechoslovakia and eliminated anticommunist sentiment. This situation triggered a reformation known as the Prague Spring Season.

Finally, the intrusion had successfully completed the reforms launched by Alexander Dubček, thereby strengthening the power of the Czechoslovak Communist Party. At the same time, he was also fired from his office immediately.
