The Lost Book of Enki: Tablet 1

So, unlike the Emerald Tablets, I won't be posting the entire tablet here, in video form I can, but they are so long that I might not have enough room to write anything! I'll be posting the synopsis for each tablet, as well as things to point out, correct, or add to after reading through each one myself. I forgot how long these were so they might not be daily as the Emerald Tablets were! FIRST please note that Enki had these tablets written to favor him while he was in a bad spot with Enlil and it doesn't paint him in the best light through most of these tablets.

So the first thing that is noticed, this story begins as it will end. Enki telling of the great destruction that was just brought upon the land of Earth, the destruction that the Weapons of Terror used by Ninurta and Nergal. Let's leave that to a later post though when it is actually in greater detail! The tablet truly begins on planet Nibiru! We learn that their early tales are much like what we go through now! Rivalries and clashes that lead to a war of missiles and desolation! Eventually, a truce was made between North and South, a ruler from one side and a spouse from the other. Their offspring, to become the unified successor. An and Antu. It was the fourth King, Anshargal, who set up this decree: because of the woman greatly outnumbering the men due to the war, men were to have more than one wife. By law, the firstborn son would be the father's successor, this did create confusion at first leading to the Law of the Seed which you can read about in the tablet or hear in the video below. He also created Shars which were what they used to measure their orbit around Sol.

By the 5th king, Anshar, the lands began to wilt again, this was due to a breach in the atmosphere above which was caused by volcanoes becoming less active making the air thinner, and diminishing the protective shield. By the 6th king, Enshar, he who named the planets in our solar system being An, Antu, Anshar, Kishar, and Gaga sitting outside the Hammered Bracelet (asteroid belt). It is also around here we have our first mention of Celestial Chariots!

Loss of fertility soon fell upon the royals. Enshar and Ninshar were unable to have a child at the time, instead, he had a child with a concubine. Du-uru was his name and his spouse, chosen by love and not seed, against the royal decrees. Suffering was increasing and confusion and infertility was becoming absent! Bu the eighth ruler; Lahma, An's seed had run dry, again confusion was greatly overtaking Nibiru!

At this time the council had come with two suggestions to heal Nibiru's atmosphere. The first was to use gold, which was abundant in the hammered bracelet. The second suggestion was to create Weapons of Terror to reawaken the volcanoes to replenish the atmosphere. This decision, Lahma was too feeble to make! For three shars this went unanswered and people suffered greatly! Within the Palace, the princes were in confusion, one took advantage of this, Alalu was his name. Alalu would kill the current king and take his place. Without right or council, a king he himself pronounced. A descendant of Anshargal through concubine a son he was. It was Anu, of An's blood and seed, of the Law of Seed who came forth to oppose Alalu's claim to the throne.

They asked for his name. It is Anu; after my forefather An am I named!
They inquired about his generations; of An's three sons he them reminded:
Anki was the Firstborn, without son or daughter he died;
Anib was the middle son, instead of Anki the throne he ascended;
Anib the daughter of his younger brother took to be wife; from them onward the
succession is in the annals recorded.
Who was that younger brother; a son of An and Antu, one of purest Seed?
The counselors with wonderment looked at each other.
Enuru was his name! Anu to them announced; he was my great ancestor!
His spouse Ninuru was a half sister; her son was firstborn; Enama was his name.
His wife was a halt sister, by laws of seed and succession a son she bore him.
Of pure descent the generations continued, by law and by seed perfect!
Anu, after our forefather An, did my parents name me;

To the prince Anu, Alalu his arm in embrace offered; to Anu he thus said:
Though by different offsprings, of one ancestor we are both descended;
Let us live in peace, together Nibiru to abundance return!
Let me keep the throne, let you keep the succession!
To the council words he directed: Let Anu Crown Prince be, let him be my successor!
Let his son my daughter espouse, let succession be united!
Anu bowed before the council, to the assembly he thus declared:
AIalu's cupbearer I shall be, his successor-in-waiting; a son of mine a daughter of his as
bride shall choose.

Celestial boats were made by Alalu's decree in order to search for gold, but they were destroyed by the Hammered Bracelets, so he followed up by having the Weapons of Terror made and dropping them in the volcanoes. This did not work. For nine Shars Alalu kept reign until challenged by Anu for the throne and won. Alalu would flee in a chariot that could fire these Weapons of Terror and took off away from Nibiru with weapons on board. Anu was left to what was a dying planet at this time. "To snow-hued Earth Alalu set his course; by a secret from the Beginning he chose his destination."
