Germans invade Poland
The start day of a sad and dreadful War was on September 1, 1939 when the German army invaded Poland. Adolf Hitler claimed it was a defensive action but the allied forces were not convinced and declared war on Germany two days later.
It was 4:45 a.m., when more than 1 million German soldiers invaded Poland all along its border bombing Polish airfields, and attacking Polish naval forces in the Baltic Sea.
