RE: Wild Women Of The Old West: Squirrel Tooth Alice
thank you for the vote of confidence Melinda, I have a book about a Texas guy who was kidnapped when you was about 9 yrs old I think and spent 6 years with them, before he came back he was going on raids with them and everything.
Yeah, I've never heard of anyone having a pet prairie dog, didn't know that was even possible! lol. Maybe she learned that from the Indians.
I'm sorry that your internet was out! Are you getting high winds? Actually I did miss you and wondered why you weren't responding to some of your comments that people had left on your post. It seemed a little odd. You do know lots of interesting stories, and of course you should tell them.
Thanks Melinda for giving your opinion on that matter that I asked about. Yes, winds are very high and it often knocks the signal out, we have a line of sight signal from a tower about a mile or so away. It's kind of a lousy set up so we're looking at other options. When we first got here they were the only option we had because we're far enough away from major hubs and towers and such. And companies say they cover everywhere and then you call and they look your location up and nope, no coverage there! lol.
I do understand how that works! I'm down here in the river valley and when I went to Verizon to see about a cell phone I told them that the only way I would buy one is if they would come out to my house and prove to me that I would have a signal here. They came out and sure enough, no signal. The guy was literally walking around my house doing the 'can you hear me now' thing. I ended up going with us cellular but the signal is weak, so I continue to have a landline phone just so I know I am connected. I am glad that my internet comes in on a cable
We did have a land line reconnected for awhile here because one of the jobs that Mrs. J tried was a customer service rep for a local electric company and they required a land line so we had that working. The internet through them was slow though. They're supposed to increase the speed but hadn't by the time she was through with that job so we got rid of the landline phone. They probably got the high speed right after we diconnected from them!
I get my internet on the same cable that I my TV from, and recently started to used the cable company for my landline phone, too it is very reliable. I don't even have the volume turned on on my cell phone because no one has that number and I never use it to make phone calls from my house.
yes it sounds like the deal you got there with the bundle is really good and if it's super reliable that's what you need. that's what WE need! lol.
I'm off to bed. Here is the leaderboard. I spent far too much time researching ocdb!
yes Ma'am Miss Melinda but that was an important project to learn about and when you get it figured out it will be worth it!
