Menjadi Pemenang kontes Explore1918 @sndbox

Sejarah tidak selama didekati melalui foto. Sejarah sangat dimungkinkan dihadirkan melalui seni rupa.

Mengikuti kontes explore1918 yang diadakan @sndbox, yang mengangkat sejarah 100 tahun silam yang terjadi di tahun 1918, saya mengangkat sejarah Bank Indonesia yang ada di Banda Aceh.

Gedung yang dibangun pemerintah kolonial Belanda ini, terletak di jalan Cut Meutia, Merduati, Banda Aceh. Setelah cari-cari tahu melalui google, berlimpah informasi tentang awal pembangunan gedung itu. Arsip sejarah tersimpan baik dari tahun pembangunan, perusahaan yang merancang dan membangun dan seluk-beluk gedung tersedia.

Setelah saya timbang-timbang, saya memutuskan untuk tidak memotretnya. Sejarah tidak selama didekati melalui foto. Sejarah sangat dimungkinkan dihadirkan melalui seni rupa. Terutama sketsa dan lukisan. Budaya membuat arsip visual melalui gambar manual, adalah warisan sejarah itu sendiri yang mulai ditinggalkan. Sehingga menurut saya, pelajaran sejarah, terutama di sekolah, sungguh membosankan dipelajari.

Sketsa gedung Bank Indonesia itu akhirnya masuk sebagai salah satu dari tiga pemenang kontes sejarah. Saya bersyukur. Karena, sejarah lokal Aceh warisan kolonial, tidak tertimbun dan tak terungkap untuk kemudian dilirik.

Bagi saya, sejarah tak wajib dibicarakan secara sempit melalui teori-teori mapan akademisi. Sejarah yang didekati secara menggembirakan, akan menarik minat masyarakat menyelediki kejadian masa lalu.

Semoga peninggalan sejarah di Aceh bisa dinikmati oleh warganya tanpa diubah dan dihilangkan.

History is not as long approached through photos. History is very possible presented through art.

Following the contest explore1918 held @sndbox, which lifted the history of 100 years ago that occurred in 1918, I raised the history of Bank Indonesia in Banda Aceh.

The building built by the Dutch colonial government, located on the street Cut Meutia, Merduati, Banda Aceh. After searching through google, abundant information about the early construction of the building. Archives of history are well kept from years of development, companies that design and build and the ins and outs of the building are available.

After I weighed it, I decided not to take it. History is not as long as it is approached through photos. History is very possible presented through art. Especially sketches and paintings. The culture of creating visual archives through manual images, is the historical heritage itself that is beginning to be abandoned. So in my opinion, the history lesson, especially in school, is really boring learned.

The sketch of the Bank Indonesia building was finally included as one of the three winners of the historical contest. I am grateful. Because, the local history of Aceh's colonial heritage, not buried and not revealed to then ogled.

For me, history is not required to be discussed narrowly through established theories of academia. Approachable history, will interest the public to investigate past events.

Hopefully historical relics in Aceh can be enjoyed by its citizens without being changed and eliminated.
