Batik Indonesia - Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage
Batik Indonesia as a culture has been defined by UNESCO as a heritage of humanity and Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity at October 2, 2009.Batik originated from Java, namely "amba" meaning "to write" and "titik" which means "point", so that when combined "write the dots."
Batik has high artistic value that have become part of Indonesian culture since a long time ago. Batik is known especially in Java. Batik pattern is different for every region in Indonesia!
Batik Solo
Batik Solo also known as batik sogan was influenced by the symbolic meanings derived from Hindu culture. Generally Solo batik style is a fusion of geometric forms were chopped into small pieces. In addition, a characteristic found in batik Solo is located in the coloring its ussually has lightly browned colour.
Batik Bali
Characteristic of batik Bali is located on the motive that apply a blend of traditional and modern pattern. It is marked with the symbol of Bali local specialty such as herons, dragons, turtles and deer.
Batik Banyumas
Banyumas batik or known as batik Banyumasan has unique pattern characteristics . Banyumas batik pattern is inspired by plants and animals, in accordance with the environment such as forests and mountains. Coloring process use alot of dark colors dark and explicit images.
Batik Madura
Madura batik pattern has simple pattern, but the pattern is formed as neat as possible to produce an interesting pattern. Batik Madura has brighter colour then other batik.
Batik Pekalongan
The pattern of Batik Pekalongan influenced by Chinese culture and carvings pattern of Cirebon brought by merchants who stopped in the city of Pekalongan. This occurs because the location is very strategic city .
Batik Malang
Has a bright color. For example, a combination of green and white or red and white. Malang batik usually has a pattern of flowers and plants.
Batik Aceh
Has a style that tend to be larger than other batik patterns. Using stamp and write technique to produce this batik.
Batik Jepara
The pattern Batik Jepara can be divided into two types, old and new pattern .The old pattern has black, brown, green leaf color. While the new pattern has more colour variations.
Batik Cirebon
One pattern that characterizes the city of Cirebon batik Mega Mendung. By making a pattern like the clouds are made in sequence to form clouds.
Batik Tulungagung
Batik tulungagung has a very beautifull color.

yes its beautifull because,
Traditional batik is 100% handmade, we need to draw the pattern mannually like a painter. The different is a painter using painbrush on a blank paper, but pembatik using CANTING on a blank fabric.
