What a brilliant post as well as a brilliant series...I have read a few texts on European historical architecture/castles but I would honestly prefer to just take a stroll through your posts instead ;-) You have a very approachable way of teaching and sharing that excited me to do my own further reading on the castles and forts.

I have plans for at least 5 more for the Baltics, but probably a couple extras from Karelia (Russian/Finnish territory north of St. Petersburg). I hope you enjoy these as well. All the best to you.
