Organising the hitchhiking: where to start?

Here are our tips for an intelligent, easy, organized move... in short, a perfect move.

Moving house: our advice

The move inevitably leads to stress and fatigue, on this it does not rain. No matter how happy and enthusiastic you are about the idea of changing your home and starting a new life, a vein of sadness and melancholy will not take away anyone when you prepare your boxes. Don't worry, all these contrasting sensations are normal. Focus on positive emotions, rather: in the new home you will build new fantastic memories.

Let's leave the sentimental side and get our sleeves off! It is time to start the real move. The purpose? Make a smart, easy, organized move... in short, a perfect move.

How do I organise my move?

First of all, you have to buy the boxes for the move. It may seem like a banality, but buying cartons is essential and must be done in time. Make an approximate calculation of how many boxes you need and then abound: better if you scrap some boxes rather than finding yourself stuck in the middle of the move. If you have more patience, your cat will thank you.

Phase relocation

A good method of organisation is to empty one room at a time, starting with the one you use least. There's nothing worse than starting to cook a nice dinner and then realizing that half of the tools you need are already packed in a box labeled "kitchen utensils".

Question of... names

As you will have already guessed, labelling cartons is very important to make it easier and faster to empty them into the new home. You can thus quickly associate which boxes go to the various rooms and the move will be less stressful.

Even colours are a good way to see at a glance how many boxes you need to empty for each room and you will know, roughly speaking, how long it will take to arrange the entire environment. Try to divide the weight of the objects equally into the various containers so that there are no boxes that are too heavy, with the risk that they might open during transport and that a dictionary will fall on the big toe.

Do not leave blank spaces

The key word for a stress-free move is "safety". The important thing is that your memories are not in danger of being shattered at the first hole on the asphalt. What you need are professional packaging for removals, so put newspaper, polystyrene and shockproof materials in every box: you can find them comfortably in specialist DIY stores or on the internet.

Now that you know all the "tricks of the trade" you can organise your move. Take time to think about how to handle every step, from packaging to actual transportation, and make sure you have all the tools you need to travel safely. The best of luck. Your new home is waiting for you!
