CHELSEA THROUGH TO THE FA CUP FINALS. WEMBLEY, HERE WE COME

Chelsea is through to the FA Cup final to be played at Wembley in May. Again we are facing Liverpool for the second final game in one season. The first was the EFL final which saw Liverpool lift the trophy in an exciting thriller. I believe it's the best competitive match so far. If only Edouard Mendy had converted the spot-kick. Too late for regrets now. Eyes on the prize ahead.

Today's semi-final against Crystal Palace was a frightening one for me from the start of the whistle. Patrick Vieira's team has been outstanding from the onset of the FA Cup competition. They were unbeaten in all matches played up to that point. When it comes to the EFL and FA Cup competitions, there is no such thing as underdogs. In fact, those termed the underdogs in the EPL are those to be wary of.

The first 45mins saw Crystal Palace merit the best chance of the game and seemed to be the better team which sent shivers down my spine as would how every Chelsea fan would rightly feel. All I prayed for was for the first half to end without conceding a goal. The chances of Chelsea coming back from behind to win such games is minimal.

Chelsea became lively about 10 mins into the second half. One thing I know and love about Chelsea is that you should expect the team to come fully alive and get more goals as soon as we get the first goal. The opposite happens when the opponent gets the first goal, thus to say we are not really good at comebacks.

That reminds me of how well Manchester United was good at comebacks at the start of the season. Where did that spirit go? Question for the oracles, I believe

Well, Chelsea's first goal came as a gift when Palace's left-back, Mitchell lost the ball in his own half. Havertz tried a cut-in in the box which was lovely laid to the feet of Loftus Cheek by a deflection. The resulting mighty strike also saw another deflection which led to the goal.

Mount capitalized on a beautiful pass from Werner a few minutes later to get the second goal for Chelsea which came as no surprise judging and the newly found energy from the first goal. The game ended with only these two goals despite other clear chances created with Lukaku hitting the post and Werner shooting into the stands.

This would actually be Chelsea's third consecutive FA Cup final. We lost the previous two but surely not this one. It would break a lot of hearts if we lost against Liverpool in another final. Winning this trophy would be the third for us, adding to the Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Are we going to witness another fantastic and intriguing play on May 14, 2022, at the Wembley Stadium for the FA Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool? I say may the former win. That is your take on that?

Thanks for passing by

Chelsea needs this win to boost the team. Though I am not a fan of Chelsea but I wished they knocked Real Madrid out of the champions league. The final between Chelsea and Liverpool will be very tight. I hope the best team wins. Thank you for sharing

And i believe the best team will be Chelsea because we are giving it our all this time around

I hope Chelsea can win this time around. Losing at Wembley for the third time in a row wouldn’t be doing us any favors.

Winning this time around must be a certainty. No team has lost in the FA Cup final on their third try.

If only Edouard Mendy had converted the spot-kick.

Oh, if only. The fact that he was subbed off for Kepa who didn't make a save and missed the 22nd penalty in the shoot-out is something I'll always have a little chuckle at (sorry).

Perhaps if it goes to penalties in the final, they'll let Mendy have a go.

I thought that Crystal Palace might win this but Chelsea turned up in the 2nd half and were just too good. If Chelsea play like they did in the 1st half when they meet Liverpool, things won't end well for them!

Kepa, thanks for that. I guess you watched the game with Palace then. Too many back passes. Indeed, Tuchel would have observed that and would advise his team.

I was only half watching it so wasn't paying too much attention. Chelsea's 1st half was "pedestrian" and Crystal Palace were full of energy but perhaps overly cautious. Then Chelsea shifted up a gear without needing to play especially well and the 2nd half looked incredibly comfortable. If Chelsea play like that in the final, Liverpool will be very happy but I fully expect Chelsea to up their game.

Surely, we wouldn't want Liverpool to be happy, nevertheless very happy. I am expecting the same level of expertise Chelsea showed in the EFL Cup final with Liverpool.

I believe Chelsea could have killed the game even before extra time but we don't always have our way when the goal post is right before us, do we?
We just have to wait till May 14, to find out

Surely, we wouldn't want Liverpool to be happy, nevertheless very happy.

Ha ha! I'm afraid that with so many of my family supporting Chelsea, I'd be happier if the Liverpool fans were happy 🤣

I was watching a video about Chelsea this morning (for my FPL team) and the team's currently finishing more chances than they should be (i.e. they're overperforming at the moment). Other than Timo Werner.

It is good to know that Chelsea is currently converting more chances than expected. I have always admired Timo even at his worse and always preferred he be given the chance to come of form. I have got high hopes for him

When it starts going his way, he'll be a true force to be reckoned with. If he does well against Arsenal tomorrow, he might be finding his way into my FPL team.

Lukaku hitting the post and Werner shooting into the stands.

Lukaku hitting the post comes as no suprise to me. He has lost all confidence and with the way he took that chance the likelihood of it scoring was low.

I must confess that most peole didnt think he was gonna score and thats sad.🙁

I would preferr Liverpool winning the FA cup than Chelsea winning. The amount of noise your fans will make😂 is the only reason why i dont want Chelsea to win.

I know of a fan who will post the trophy for one whole week😂. So for the sake of my peace i will prefer a Liverpool win.

Regardless of Lukaku not scoring, he played his role well in holding down the defense and creating room for shots on goal.

It is a good thing outcome of matches doesn't depend on what fans will do in the aftermath but on how well each team performed. Noise or not, that's fact and you clearly don't like them😂

May the best team win as always
