Liverpool 4-0 LASK

I just had to watch this game and also write about it after last times Liverpool disappointing game against Toulouse. Today was reinvindication time and frankly when I saw the line up I was kind of surprised. Klopp sent out a kind of alternate line up again. I had doubts about the end result of this game when I saw this and felt kind of frustrated, but I guess that is why Klopp is the head coach and I am relegated to writing inane articles about these games.

Yes, the tactics ended up working out just fine for Liverpool and I think the result was actually not a reflection of what happened it could have been much more, but I will take whatever comes. Two fine goals, the first one by Luis Diaz and the second by Gakpo, plus a crossbar hit by Tsimikas rounded up a nice first half. early on in the second half Liverpool were given what I think was actually a soft penalty which was scored by Salah and finally Gakpo scored a thunderous kick for the fourth goal.

Liverpool had 61% possession plus 10 shots on goal against three by LASK, I think it was a very good display of attacking football and LASK had absolutely no chance of getting anything out of this game. Now Liverpool are through to the next round as first place in their group. This next round should be much more difficult as the teams that will be faced are the best teams from the group stage plus the third place UEFA Champion League teams, so we will get much better and exciting games. Very much looking forward to this.
