RE: [공지] @proxy.token 증인 투표 운영 방침(@proxy.token witness voting policy)

then none of use would have any power over anything. Because the Tron foundation has complete control over Tron blockchain

And here, the Witnesses have all the power over everything.

https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3542

Some time ago I suggested switching to Proof of Stake to increase decentralization and prevent such attacks. Nothing has been done. Even a proposal was to change TOP20 to TOP100 (which would also make this kind of attack impossible).

You know why?

Because nobody cares about decentralization. The point is to be in TOP 20 witnesses, to make money.

Sort:

DPoS was chose because of its better scalability.

But I think you have a better chance of getting more people on board with your initiative to increase decentralization now.

It may be, but I don't believe it.

DPoS was chosen because Dan Larimer had previously created Bitshares (who operated on this consensus system).

Remember that it is not for you to decide which consensus system will work. It will be done by the Witnesses who you want to deprive of tens or hundreds of dollars a month. That's why I don't believe we can change anything

Steem is not going to adopt PoS. That's not what I meant. I meant the other measures you suggested.

Probably nobody will do it, just like the Witnessians didn't want Steemit to display more than 50 witnesses on the list by default.

An interesting compromise would be to use Steem as Sidechain Tron. Steem would be independent goverment, but at the same time you could exchange tokens for Tron and execute his smart contracts.

I think a bridge to do two-way swaps between the chains would be a good thing. Any two chains should be able to connect that way.
