Covid Status - Sri Lanka-ශ්රී ලංකා
Dear Sri Lankans ,
Situation is getting worse each day ! If you check my previous COVID report , you can understand how fast these numbers are growing. Tourism plays a major role in Sri Lanka and due to that reason our country is extremely vulnerable to COVID-19. Government has failed to take the decision of an island wide full lockdown and there are many other reasons to that delay too. Majority of Sri Lanka's people depends on their daily earnings and it will be very difficult for them to face 2-3 week lockdown. It's a really hard decision to make.
Let's take a look at the current statics of Sri Lanka.

The social impact of this pandemic is very hard. Lot of people are unable to do their day today work , loss of incomes , loss of jobs and many more. More that 50% of Sri Lankan work force are informal workers. Life is getting really difficult for people in Sri Lanka. When will this end ?
I'm really happy to see some countries in the world has successfully controlled this pandemic. As I know most of the European countries and china now have a control over this pandemic. The main reason is vaccination programme , but I do not how what will be the side effects of these vaccines in long term. For Asian region it's getting worse day by day. I think the main reason is the political issues and poor management. Let's hope for the best and wish for the good days to enjoy some sunlight in our golden beaches with a king coconut !

Oh dear. The stats are not actually going in sirlanka's favour right now. I believe controlling this virus has to be a collective effort, both by the government and the masses. I just hope the effects of this pandemic is not too tremendous for the good of everyone, fingers crossed 🤞

Hola @besticofinder me gusta mucho este informe detallado del covid en su isla así nos enteramos como esta las cosas en otros lugares que no están al alcance de conocer. Aquí en Venezuela el Estado a tratado de controlar pa pandemia con medidas de radicalizacion y flexibilizacion que consisten en que en la semana radical solo los comercios con expendió de alimentos abren sus puertas hasta cierta hora y la flexibilización es un poco mas holgada y mas tranquila los comercios venden sus productos con mas facilitad incluso los que nosotros llamamos economía informal. Esto ha ayudado un poco a controlar el avance del virus. Aun el uso de tapabocas es obligatorio y se mantienes las medidas de bioseguridad, claro el Estado venezolano no informa las estadísticas reales porque me imagino no les conviene para no alarmar a la población. Tengo amigos y familiares que han fallecido por causa de este malvado virus. Nuestra economia esta muy mal antes de que el virus apareciera, como comprenderas ahora esta peor. Solo nos queda la confianza y Fe que todo esto pasará y volveremos a ser los mismos. Así que pienso que la solución esta en creer que Dios hará cosas grandes para ustedes, y no les faltara el sustento diario, mientras hay vida hay esperanza. La Biblia dice "No e visto justo desamparado ni su simiente que mendigue pan". Confianza que Dios esta con ustedes.

As you mentioned, current situation of this epidemic getting worse day by day in Sri Lanka. It is so tragic to convey that covid cases and deaths getting increased.
Mismanagement and some political issues are the main reason for this and I am wondering that, why the government is still not taking actions to wipe out this.
