Many of my posts are related with my work place because I am so addicted on it. In the other word, I was made to be addicted by my management.

Today is 24.05.2021. It was announced that some adverse weather would be there due to some shit happening in Bengal. All the environment is covered with darkness with a color of gloomy, steering the wind here and there, once a little drizzle, once a monsoon but nothing prevail for a longer time. Everything get vanished suddenly as if nothing was happened.

Anyway this could have been a adorable feeling if I had a coffee on my sip with a movie at my eyesight. But unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to be like that because life was already dedicated on a job. Not like as in the childhood, not like as in Uni, now we have responsibilities and we are bound with them. So I was working for whole day with this nasty rainy environment.

One of my workplace is situated at river which undergoes frequently flooding. You may be wondering that who the heck has made that choice of keeping a building in a such a place. But what else we have to do if our final object is to build a structure to collect river water. Definitely it has to be build at the river.

This is at Kuda Ganga which is a branch of Kalu Ganga. Also this Kuda Ganga is fed with Kukule Ganga before it comes to my place. I think you may be familiar with Kukule because one of the major power plant is there and Sri Lankan weather forcasting team usually discuss about the sluice gates of Kukule Ganga.

Someday we feel light rain at my place but river water level is rising up because of the heavy rain to Rathnapura area. The site is located at the end point of a long journey of river. So it brings tons of water to make us flood.

Normal river level is 2-3m from MSL. It rises up to 4-5 m from MSL in a normal rain. Heavy rain can lift it up to 5-9m from MSL. That is the maximum flood level that I have witnessed so far from 2019. But it hit up to 13.5m MSL in 2017 which was the leading flood in last 100 years. Therefore our all functional equipment will be kept above 13.5m MSL while the ground level lies at 6.0m MSL. I think you may get an idea about the flood pattern of the particular place.

Some feel this as a shit but for me, it's a Heaven.
