The District-level Development Planning Deliberation (Musrenbang) activities across the Regency entered their fourth day, held simultaneously in three districts. One of the meetings was opened by the Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, ST, on Thursday morning (February 26, 2026) at the Multipurpose Building of the Peusangan Siblah Krueng District Office.

In his remarks, Regent Mukhlis reminded everyone that village-level development activities should not be proposed here, as these are the responsibility of the village and funded by village funds.

Meanwhile, proposals for sub-district, regency, provincial, and central government authorities can be submitted through this Musrenbang so that development can be integrated with national development.

The Regent also hoped that proposals submitted should not be limited to physical programs such as bridges, roads, irrigation, and canals. He also emphasized that programs/activities in the health, education, and community economic empowerment sectors, as part of poverty alleviation efforts, should be prioritized.

"What's the point of good roads if there are still many children dropping out of school and suffering from malnutrition, and no agricultural/plantation products to market, either for export or import," said Regent Mukhlis.

Previously, the Head of Peusangan Siblah Krueng Sub-district, Afrizal, on that occasion, conveyed several priority programs needed by the community in the area severely affected by the flash floods that caused two steel-frame bridges to collapse.

We have gathered community input to propose in the 2026 Musrenbang (Regional Development Planning Forum) for the 2027 development plan.

Some of these proposals include maintaining the road from Gampong Alue Iet to Pante Karya and several other road sections. Rehabilitating 170 hectares of rice paddies buried by flood mud and making them unusable for farmers to plant rice.

The sub-district head also proposed that the Gampong Kubu field be turned into a public open space, equipped with a soccer field and jogging track, and developed into a riverside tourist attraction. This has been discussed with the village head of Kubu, who strongly agrees that it should be a priority.

The hope is that this public space will stimulate the community's economy, especially since it has a soccer field that can later be used for soccer tournaments, attracting participants from several sub-districts, creating a lively atmosphere.

Another urgent proposal is the need for school buses for children from Buket Sudan Village and the surrounding area to Kubu Village. They can then cross the river by boat to school in Peusangan District.

"Some time ago, I was sitting at the location and observed the situation of schoolchildren. It's a shame those without transportation are asking for rides on friends' motorcycles. We hope that a school bus will be provided from the other side of the road, in Blang Panjoe Village, to transport the children to school. This will ease the burden on the community," said the sub-district head.
