Teuku Umar University Officially Opens Rector Registration for the 2026-2030 Term, Here's the Schedule

Teuku Umar University – The Rector Selection Committee of Teuku Umar University (UTU), Meulaboh, Aceh Barat, Indonesia, officially held a press conference to publicize the stages of the UTU Rector Election (Pilrek) for the 2026-2030 term. The event, held on the UTU campus, aimed to provide the public with as much information as possible regarding the selection process for the university's new leadership.

In his statement, Dr. T. Alamsyah, SKM., MPH, Chair of the UTU Rector Selection Committee, invited the nation's best young people to register to become UTU Rector to continue their leadership and lead UTU to excellence.

The committee released the official schedule, which will serve as the primary reference for prospective rector candidates, including February 18th to March 3rd, 2026: Registration and Selection of Prospective Candidates. The selection process will continue from March 5th to 6th, 2026, with the Administrative Selection. Then, on March 10th, 2026, the announcement of the results of the prospective candidate selection process will take place. From April 16th to 24th, 2026, the candidate screening (vision-mission deepening process) will take place. From May 4th to 13th, 2026, the candidate selection will be conducted by the University Senate.

After the university-level process is complete, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology will appoint and inaugurate the elected Rector, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The committee emphasizes that the selection process will be transparent, accountable, and prioritize quality for the better future of UTU. Qualified academics can register through the official channels provided.

"We hope this process will identify innovative leaders capable of leading Teuku Umar University to compete at the national and international levels," concluded Alamsyah, chairman of the UTU Rector Election committee.
