A Resident's House in Makmur District, Bireuen, Burns Down, Regent Immediately Visits the Site.
A fire occurred in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province. A semi-permanent house was completely destroyed by fire, including its contents, on Monday, October 27, 2025, at around 3:30 PM WIB.
The burned house belonged to Saiful (50), a resident of Blang Perlak Village, Makmur District, Bireuen Regency. The house, located in a remote area, was reportedly completely destroyed, with no items salvaged. Saiful lived in the house with his wife and two children.
According to Saiful, the house was empty at the time of the incident. He was in the garden, leading cattle to graze in land about one kilometer from their home.
His wife, Riza Izzati, was visiting her parents, who also live in the same village.
Suddenly, residents arrived and informed him that his house had caught fire. Upon receiving the news, Saiful and the residents immediately went to the location and found his house completely engulfed in flames.
The flames quickly consumed the entire building and its contents, leaving nothing salvageable.
In the disaster, Saiful lost everything in his house, including important documents such as his ID card, wallet, and Rp 500,000 in cash, which he had kept inside. Saiful claimed to have only the clothes he had worn while in the garden.
In response to the incident, the Acting Village Head of Blang Perlak, Rasyidin (39), along with the Village Head of Tuha Peut, Syarifuddin Muhammad Yusuf (49), immediately went to the scene to provide moral support and initial assistance to the victims.
The village government immediately distributed emergency aid in the form of basic necessities to help Saiful and his family survive the aftermath of the disaster.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, and there were no fatalities.
Meanwhile, following the incident, the Regent of Bireuen, H. Mukhlis, ST, immediately went to the scene before Maghrib prayer.
The Regent was accompanied by the Head of the Bireuen Social Services Agency (Kadinsos), Ismunandar, ST, MT, the Makmur Sub-district Head and his wife, and several other officials.
The journey to the location took quite a long time because it is more than 50 kilometers from the Bireuen city center. Upon arrival, Regent Mukhlis immediately inspected the condition of the houses that had been razed to the ground.
He also took the time to chat with the victims and encourage them to remain resilient in the face of this disaster.
As a token of their concern, the Bireuen Regency Government distributed emergency aid in the form of basic necessities and emergency supplies.
In addition, the Regent also handed over additional assistance from the private sector, PT Takabeya Perkasa Group. The aid was received directly by Saiful and witnessed by village officials and local residents.
In his statement to reporters, Regent Mukhlis stated that the Bireuen Regency Government would endeavor to assist in rebuilding the victims' homes using funds from the Bireuen Regency Baitul Mal (BMK).
He hopes the assistance can be realized in the 2026 fiscal year.
"We will strive to rebuild this house with assistance from Baitul Mal. Hopefully, it can be realized next year," said the Regent.
He also emphasized the importance of being vigilant against the potential for fires, especially during the current rainy season. Even though it rains frequently, fires can still occur, one of the causes being electrical short circuits.
Therefore, he asked the State Electricity Company (PLN) to pay closer attention to the condition of the electricity network in remote areas to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
The fire left four people homeless: Saiful, his wife, Riza Izzati, and their two children, Muhammad Nafais (4), and Muhammad Arkanza (2).
For the time being, the family will be staying at Saiful's parents' house in the same hamlet.
Local residents, along with village officials, also helped clean up the debris from the fire. They hope for further assistance from the government and relevant parties so that Saiful's family can soon have a decent place to live again.
This disaster serves as a reminder to all parties of the importance of disaster preparedness, as well as the importance of social solidarity in helping others who are struck by disaster.

Gladly there are no fatalities but that kind of situation is a big life challenge of the affected residents. We hope they can survive the problem and start a new life and a new house.
