Bireuen Government Presents Awards to Bireuen Founding Figures.

The Bireuen Regency Government (Pemkab) in Aceh Province presented awards to Bireuen's founding figures, former regents, and various other individuals in appreciation of their dedication.

This included journalist organizations and a journalist, as part of the regency's 26th anniversary celebrations, during the closing ceremony of Bireuen Cultural Week at the Cot Gapu Green Open Space (RTH) on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

The awards were presented by Aceh Regional Secretary Muhammad Nasir; Aceh Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Ari Wahyu Widodo; Head of the Language Development and Development Agency of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Hafidz Muksin; Head of the Language Center of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Drs. Umar Solikhin; as well as the Regent and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda).

The award plaques commemorated the various services and were also part of building solidarity and appreciation for the dedication of each recipient.

The award plaque recipients were H Subarni A Gani, Sofyan Ali, Zainuddin Daud, the late Drs Syahbuddin AR, the late HM Abed Beuransyah, the late H Abdullah Ishak, the late H Syamaun Arifin, the late H Rusli Rasyid, the late Alimuddin as the founding figure of Bireuen.

Then to the former regional heads, namely Drs H Hamdani Raden (Acting Regent of Bireuen 1999-2002), Drs H Mustafa A Glanggang (Regent of Bireuen 2002-2007), the late Drs Nurdin Abdul Rahman (Regent of Bireuen 2007-2012), H Ruslan M Daud (Regent of Bireuen 2012-2017).

The late H. Saifannur S. Sos (Regent of Bireuen 2017-2022), Dr. H. Muzakkar A. Gani (Regent of Bireuen 2020-2022), Dr. Aulia Sofyan (Acting Regent of Bireuen 2022-2024), and Jalaluddin (Acting Regent of Bireuen 2024-2025).

Awards were also given to Tgk H. Sofyan Mahdi as a religious figure, Qurrata Aini as an outstanding salt farmer, Nasee Mee Pandrah Village as a top 15 performing village in the national stunting management sector, and Meunasah Timu Peusangan Village as a model anti-corruption village.

Also, the Lung Daneun Village Library in Peusangan Siblah Krueng District won first place for the best village library at the provincial level. The Hudep Beusare Farmers Group in Paloh Mee Village, Gandapura, won first place for the best farmer group.

Mustafa Arsyen, Batee Timoh Jeumpa, as inspiring fishermen in preserving the ocean; Ismail Aiyub, creator of the Bireuen Regency logo; Ajamunzalifah, an outstanding teacher who won first place in the Korpri National Quran Recitation Competition (MTQ Korpri); AR Djuli, Chairman of the Indonesian Veterans Institute in Bireuen; and Agustina Endah Ekawati, the best innovative supervisor at the kindergarten, elementary, and junior high levels at the provincial level.

Also awarded were Gustina Fitriani, an outstanding teacher and national facilitator; Desi Sofiana, who won second place in the national poetry writing competition for teachers; and Ikhwan Ramadhana, who won a gold medal in the 2025 Indonesia-wide Integrated Islamic Science Competition.

Furthermore, Aqilla Mirzani Amir, an outstanding student in pencak silat at the international student level; Ghaida Hanina, Aulia Imanka, and Siti Nurul Fithrati, all students of SMAN 1 Bireuen, won first place in the 2025 national English debate competition.

Muhibbul Jamal from MIN 1 Bireuen won first place in the provincial Arabic language Olympiad; Kesya Qilla Balqis from MTsN 5 Bireuen won second place in the provincial mathematics Olympiad; and Sofia Zahra from MAS Az Zahrah won the national short story writing competition.

M Kasem Ahmad, the artist who created the Rabbani Wahid dance, the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) and the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI), Tarmi, the best devotee in the field of cleanliness at the Bireuen DLHK, and Rahmat Hidayat, a journalist from AcehEkspres, as the most active journalist in coverage.
