Bireuen Regent Leads Grand Roll Call and Recitation of Prayer to Commemorate 80th Anniversary of Charity Day.
The Regent of Bireuen Regency, H. Mukhlis, ST, served as the inspector of the Grand Roll Call and Recitation of Prayer to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Charity Day (HAB) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which took place on Saturday morning (January 3, 2026) at the Cot Gapu Green Open Space (RTH) Field, Kota Juang District.
In attendance were the Deputy Regent, Ir. Razuardi, MT, the Commander of the Bireuen Military District Command (Dandim 0111), officials representing the Police Chief and the District Attorney, as well as other relevant officials, the Head of the Bireuen Ministry of Religious Affairs Office (Kankemenag), Dr. H. Zulkifli, SAg., MPd., staff, employees, and students.
In his remarks, Bireuen Regent, H. Mukhlis, delivered a written speech from the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Nasaruddin Umar, which included, among other things, that humanity is now facing a major challenge called Artificial Intelligence (AI).
"We live in the VUCA era—Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity—where change is rapid, unpredictable, complex, and full of uncertainty. In this era, we cannot simply be spectators; we must embrace AI sovereignty," he emphasized.
He also said that while in the past, scholars and intellectuals shaped the world through literacy and scholarship at centers of civilization like the House of Wisdom (Baitul Hikmah). Today, civil servants at the Ministry of Religious Affairs must be able to imbue the substance of AI with religious content that is authoritative, valid, moderate, calm, and enlightening.
"We must ensure that future algorithms are not devoid of divine and humanitarian values. We must safeguard AI so that it becomes a tool for unification and strengthening harmony, not a trigger for disinformation and division," the Minister of Religious Affairs hoped.
Previously, the Head of the Bireuen Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, Dr. H. Zulkifli, SAg., MPd, stated in a report that for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the 80th Anniversary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Day is a moment for introspection and inspiration.
"We look back to learn lessons, and look forward with optimism. The challenges are indeed great, but the opportunities are even greater. We have quality human resources, continuously developing infrastructure, and most importantly, we have the trust of the community," he said.
The Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office also addressed the impact of the flash floods, or hydrometeorological events, that occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday (November 25-26, 2025). Now, a number of ASN have to watch their homes submerged in floodwaters and mud, and their belongings swept away.
Furthermore, 55 Islamic schools (madrasah) were affected by mud and floodwaters, destroying all furniture. Over 3,000 students were affected, with all school supplies lost. Twelve houses were completely destroyed, one Islamic boarding school collapsed and destroyed, and mosques were affected by the mud.
Most heartbreakingly, bringing tears to our eyes, two young students and a dedicated civil servant were called home by the Creator following the hydrometeorological disaster, said Dr. H. Zulkifli.
