Hundreds of High School Students in Bireuen Take Part in the 2024 National Student Art Festival and Competition.

A total of 131 students from 14 Senior High Schools (SMA) throughout Bireuen, Tuesday, 14/5/2024, competed in the district level National Student Art Festival and Competition (FLS2N) at the Bireuen Region IV Education and Culture Service Branch Office.

Apart from the main hall of the office, several competition areas took place at the Cot Ijue Peusangan Integrated State SLB which is not far from the Bireuen Cabdin Office.

The full day of competition activities was held by the Bireuen High School Principal's Working Conference (MKKS) opened by the Head of Bireuen Division, Abdul Hamid MPd.

Participants from various high schools from Samalanga to Gandapura attended accompanied by their respective supervisors, the competition participants came in their respective distinctive clothing including traditional Acehnese clothing and others.

The competitions in this year's FLS2N event are poetry creation, poetry reading, song creation, poster design, short films, photography. Then there are solo guitar competitions, journalism, digital comics, crafts, short story writing, female and female solo singing, monologues and creative dance.

Bireuen Regional Head, Abdul Hamid said, the FLS2N event is a national agenda activity for high school level which takes place every year. Of the 30 public and private high schools in Bireuen, only 14 high schools took part, starting by registering online. He added that education officials in Bireuen hope that with the FLS2N event students can show their talents.

"Today our children appeared and gave them space to express themselves according to their respective skills," he said.

It was stated that many people think that Acehnese children cannot sing, it is not that Acehnese children cannot sing, but there is no space given for them to perform, give them space and provide a stage like the FLS2N event where they will perform and show their talents.

The students added that apart from routine art lessons, it should also be given to children so that there is a balance. It is hoped that with this competition, the children will perform at the provincial level and make the Bireuen region proud, apart from that it will show that Bireuen has the same talents as other regional children.

"Bireuen children are not inferior to other regional children and we hope that Bireuen children can perform at the national level," he said.
