Between joy and sadness
Dear friends, admins, and all moderators of this beloved community. May we always be under His protection!
There are certainly different meanings between joy and sadness. Joy is an effort or activity undertaken to increase happiness and pleasure. These activities can include simple activities such as exercising, listening to music, reading stories, watching comedy, gathering with friends and family, recreation, and even being grateful for what we have found in this life.
Sadness, meanwhile, is a feeling of unhappiness caused by several things such as loss, despair, failure, separation, and grief. Sadness is a natural response to a situation someone is experiencing.
Joy and sadness are two complementary emotions in this life. Deep sadness often strengthens our appreciation and motivation for the peak of happiness in the future.
But the question is, can these pleasant things take away someone's sadness?
The answer is certainly unknown; it may be yes, it may not. Enjoyable activities can sometimes help alleviate, distract, and alleviate sadness by reducing stress hormones and restoring a cheerful mood. Enjoyable activities include socializing with others, engaging in physical activity, and praying.
However, if the problems a person faces or experiences are truly overwhelming, no matter how enjoyable the activities are, they will not alleviate the sadness; sometimes, the sadness may even worsen. This is perhaps why many people choose to end their lives, as the problems they experience cannot find a better solution.
We all experience sadness. However, we are also advised not to dwell on sadness. Therefore, finding ways to distract ourselves with activities we enjoy or spending time with loved ones is a good way to manage a sad mood.
Try to distract yourself by doing enjoyable things to mask your sadness. With a smile and an awareness of the meaning of life, we will always be happy. Because this life is temporary, the wealth we are given is a trust, and we know that one day we will leave this world.
