Education in the midst of a global crisis
Dear friends, admins, and all moderators of our beloved community. May we always be under His protection!
Education has always been the foundation of a nation's progress. However, recently, the world of education has faced two unprecedented pressures: a quality crisis and the challenges of artificial intelligence technology. The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed the learning system and forced the world to move to the digital space.
However, after the pandemic ended, new problems emerged, such as unequal access, decreased motivation to learn, and the threat of digital plagiarism.
The world of education is currently facing a serious global crisis due to the pandemic, conflict, and climate change, which has impacted almost all school children worldwide. The digital access gap, low literacy, and decreased focus on learning are major challenges. Strengthening digital infrastructure, flexible curricula, and psychosocial support are needed to ensure the continuity of education.
Here are some key points on education amidst the global crisis:
1. Global Learning Crisis

More than 250 million children are out of school, and many students fail to achieve basic literacy levels, even after attending school.
2. Impact of Conflict and Disasters

Prolonged conflict and natural disasters force millions of children to drop out of school, with girls being the most vulnerable to losing access to education.
3. Digital Inequality

Only a small percentage of schools in developing countries have stable internet access, widening the gap in education quality across regions and socioeconomic backgrounds.
4. Declining Focus

Studies show that students' attention spans have decreased drastically today compared to a decade ago.
5. Mitigation Strategies

Strengthening technological infrastructure, increasing teacher capacity, and adapting curricula are urgent solutions to address this crisis.
6. Character Education

Amidst the tide of globalization, character education is crucial for preserving cultural identity and local values from outside influences.
Education in the era of globalization faces complex and multidimensional challenges. Inequality of access, low curriculum relevance, a cultural identity crisis, and limited digital literacy are some of the issues that must be addressed immediately. However, if managed well, globalization can also be a significant opportunity to build a more open, innovative, and collaborative education system. Responding to these challenges requires cross-sector collaboration, from the government, schools, teachers, families, and the global community. With visionary education reform rooted in local values, we can create a generation of young people who are not only academically intelligent, but also capable of critical thinking, respect for diversity, and contribute to humanity globally.
Dear friends, that concludes my presentation for today. I welcome your suggestions and comments. I apologize for any errors in this post. Wassalam.
