I doubt goldfish live still in bowls. These assumptions that fish don't feel pain and have a short memory were also once spread by scientists! Every owner observing his animals knows better,this besides of the fact fish like other animals and humans also develop certain habits which have nothing to do with a good memory or thoughtful thinking but action + result.
