Introduction
Hello Steemians!
It is another great week and we give glory to Almighty God for making us to be alive. I congratulate you all for being alive today. It is God's mercy that has kept us all. May his name be forever praised. This is third week of season two contest of steemit engagement challenge. The first two week have come and gone.
For those that may be reading my article for the first time, I am Kehinde Micheal and my username is @msquaretwins here on this platform, and Interestingly, I will be submitting my first contest post in this community for this week. In this post, I am going to be discussing how steemit helped and helping so many people during COVID-19 look down. Happy reading!
Covid-19 was an epidemic. What would you say about it? Explain in your own words.
The first time I heard about COVID-19 was around December, 2019/ January 2020 at the Nigerian Naval Engineering College seminar. Then I was observing national service, a compulsory service that every college graduate observe immediately after their graduation. It was in that seminar that I know that Covid19 epidemic has been spreading very fast. I was told that the pandemic started in 2019.
Covid-19 is a short name given to a pandemic called Coronavirus. The ever first case of the pandemic was first discovered in China. The disease is caused by a virus called SARS CoV-2 virus. The symptoms of the virus are cough, headache, fever, soar throat lost of smell and taste etc. The disease killed a lot of people in year 2019 and 2020.
What difficulties did you personally encounter during Covid-19?
The disease spread rapidly in 2019/202 and this led to the development of some measure that can be taken for fast spreading and to keep people from contacting Covid19. As a result, there are so many difficulties that I personally face.
One of the difficulties was, and still is, getting to the entrance of some institutions like banks, university, church etc, and I would have to be looking around for facemask to enter. You know one of the measure of COVID-19 is the use of facemask.
Another difficulty is the washing of hands with soap, and Spirit before entering banks, church, school and some other organizations. One will need to drop whatsoever he's holding and first go and do the washing of hands, which at some places you will have to wait for some minutes before you can enter because of the queue.
Apart from those points listed and discussed above, the increase of transport was another challenge especially in 2019/2020. As a result of the COVID-19, the seat which 3 people should use for public transport turned to be for 2 people because of social distance which is part of COVID-19 measure. Hence, the transport fee shot higher than normal and this affect not only me but many people.
How Steemit blockchain helped you during Covid-19
Steemit Blockchain is a platform that is helping so many people around the world. Undoubtedly, it is one of the Blockchain platform that is helping people to grow. I joined the steemit platform last year, and I must say that the platform has been of help to me financially. The steemit platform kept me engaged and still keeping me engage till today.
During the time, I was able to earn on the platform and used my earning to take care of my needs. Special thanks to Almighty God and the curators and members of steemit platform for their consistent support. I don't take it for granted at all.
How many people in your household were affected by Covid-19 disease and what was the condition?
Covid-19 shook all the nations of the world. So many cases of death were recorded. Some were infected but barely espaced death. Likewise in my country, Nigeria, so many cases of infection were recorded. Some espaced death and some eventually died. But in all, to the glory of God, none of my household or family members contacted the infection.
How did Steemit keep you busy or rely on information when you were home locked during covid-19?
Like I have rightly said, the steemit platform really kept me busy during the time. I was engaging on the platform and creating quality contents on the platform. And Interestingly, the platform was also rewarding my labour on the platform. The engagement on the platform here on steemit did not make me to feel boredom during the time, and the quality information gotten here from time to time is very helpful.
More so, the knowledge of crypto which was initiated early last year has also be of help to learn new things in the crypto space. Thanks to the moderators and Admins of the crypto academy for the excellent job always.
Did you sell steemit earning during covid-19 to reduce or eliminate the problems you face in your daily life?
The answer to this question is Yes. I sold my earning to maintain myself and for upkeep. In fact I still exchange or sell steemit earning for upkeep till today. However, I always do the intiative that will increase the growth of the steemit platform. Late last year, when the steemit blog brought about club initiative, I joined the initiative for the growth and development of the platform.
Today, I am still involved in the initiative. This shows that I don't only sell my steemit earning, but also power them up to meet the club initiative. Although I am in club505 right now but I am working toward joining club75 which by God grace will be achieve this week.
Did steemit help other people besides you in your country, city during covid-19 global epidemic?
Yes. Steemit helped and still helping so many people in my country. There are many Nigerians on the platform, both old and young that are doing great on the platform because of the support from steemit platform. So many people from my country are receiving support on daily basis on the platform.
Apart from that, some people who are not on the steemit platform alo received help as a result of promotion and help given to them by the steemit users in this nation. The help to people has not stopped and many users are still extending help to people who are not on the steemit platform under steemit support umbrella.
It is of recent that the help to people has reduce due to the support that is not forthcoming from the platform. But I believe the struggle time will soon be over on the platform and people will still keep supporting non users in my country and keep doing project that will promote steemit in Nigeria.
You informed people about steemit during covid-19 so that they too can get out of trouble by joining steemit.
Yes. I invited some people to the platform. I have a platform on WhatsApp, it is called "earn and catch fun". The platform was created some years back when I did engagement on Zwerl platform. The platform was created to help people join Zwerl platform then. But the platform was renamed to "Earn and catch fun" after the close of the Zwerl platform.
Ever since then, I have been using the platform to inform people about online opportunities. I used the platform as well to tell people about steemit platform.
Conclusion
In this post, I have discussed briefly on what Covid19 means in my own word. I have also explained difficulties I encountered and how steemit helped me during the process. More importantly, I also dicussed about how I engaged on the platform and the earning received as a result of my engagement that I used to support my daily living. It is no doubt that steemit, among many Blockchain platform is helping so many people around the world.

If anyone can say he/she wasn't affected by the COVID-19 then that person is not serious. Everyone got a share of the tea dished out by the COVID-19 virus.

Covid-19 period was a sad moment for everyone, no movements, no jobs, and most things were said to be on hold, the masses really suffered a lot as a result pandemic, we were quarantined and the curfew made all jobs on hold
Yes oo.. everyone was just inside. The Covid19 pandemic really wreak havoc in many nations of the world. So many people lost jobs and the rest... People thought that the world would come to an end especially in 2019/2020.
I for one tot the world would end for real, I started begging for forgiveness everyday
