Look Who's Back... The Birds Of Spring!

in Feathered Friends5 years ago

I'm thrilled to see that FeatheredFriends has become a community!

I still haven't learned all the details about communities but I do know this is something that has been a long time coming. Today I'd like to make my first post in the new community and this will be all about the birds of spring. I'm super excited!

Beacon Hill Park is one of the best places in my area for bird watching. A warm spring day brings out all the bird watchers and the birds are there to meet them... and they're hungry!

The Peacocks have grown their tail feathers again. This means they will soon be looking to attract mates.

All the birds are pairing off now. This pair of Canadian Geese was circling overhead and allowed me to snap off a few shots.

Next I saw a couple of male Mallard Ducks on the prowl... Where the ladies at???

Here's one lovely couple that have already paired off.

The great blue heron colony is beginning to arrive back in the park. I haven't seen any signs of nest building yet, they're all just arriving and checking each other out I guess. It's still early days...

Finally, if the first batch of photos don't make you think of spring, here's proof positive... the first American Robin, perched in my cherry tree. I hope you enjoyed these photos, thanks for visiting.

Glad you found the #featheredfriends community! These photos are making me long for spring, but still quite a distance away from Wisconsin! !Tip

Thank you, Melinda! I think having a community makes a lot more sense than a theme or challenge which you try to take care of one day per week. This should be a lot more manageable and it will be easier to find all the posts. Congratulations on getting this organized!

It will be great when I can access it from eSteem. I dislike using Steemit or Steampeak to access it, so I'm waiting patiently....

That answers another question I had, thanks. I hadn't tried yet I was wondering.

Signs of spring!! It's in the pairing off of Mother Nature's best! These are fabulous and really brought a smile to my face. I love spring and the fresh look it gives me.

The peacocks are so stunning. I love seeing them run wild through the park. Victoria is such a beautiful town and never more than in the spring!

Thank you for the beauty! I'm so glad to see you back!

Thank you, Denise! I really appreciate the warm welcome. You never know what to expect if you've been away for a while.

Oh, sheesh! Reading you is like a homecoming. So glad you came back.

I certainly appreciate the kind words!

Wonderful bird captures Keith. I love the first two photos with the beautiful peacock.
