Beyond the Surface - Humanity in the Mirror of Reality
"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity." - Nelson Mandela
"Every event, every incident in human life acts as a brick in the construction of his character. (Bano Qudsia, Raja Gadh)"
Have you thought about how much the word "HUMAN" means to you? ..... 🤔
Humanity is a big and deep word which has a big philosophy hidden inside it.
My question here is what is the importance of human life?
He has to leave this world one day or the other. But wait, let's have a discussion about whether we can leave the world at will.
Can a person be his own killer?
What a rude question, but I'm ready to take my word for it.
To me, the definition of a human being is a compassionate, service-creating individual.
As Munir Niazi says:
"ہمیشہ دیر کر دیتا ہوں میں ہر کام کرنے میں
ضروری بات کہنی ہو، کوئی وعدہ نبھانا ہو'"
"I am always late in doing everything
Something important has to be said, a promise has to be fulfilled.(English Version of above mentioned lines, Although Urdu literature has its own Essence but still I tried so english reader can understand the gist )"
One who shares the suffering of others, tries to reduce the difficulties of others, not to increase them. A man is one whose heart is full of humanity, who is not at peace until the person next to him is at peace.
But wait, it is with great sadness and dejection that I have to say that I have seen the funeral of humanity here.
How can people be so ruthless and heartless that they shed their own blood?
Just take a look at the newspapers of my country. Every day it is full of such headlines that so-and-so got tired of life and took the life of so-and-so.
What circumstances force a person to take this step?
Surely, there must be some special reason that a person leaves this colorful world in such moments by shedding his own blood.
The hardest thing in the world is to end your own life.
"When a person is at peace from within, he also gives peace to others. (Ashfaq Ahmed)"
I don't know why people are still taking this step day by day.
Is the world going to end in such a way that humans will kill humans and thus humans will disappear from the world?
A similar incident happened in my area yesterday and we were shocked. Our faces turned yellow and our minds were unable to think about what happened.
Why did it happen, how did it happen?
There is a small hotel in our area where a gentleman sells bread. The boys on two bikes were carrying pistols. He had an enmity with a boy. Suddenly, a speeding bike escaped from there, raining bullets. Look at the game of luck that those bullets passed through the boy's leg and hit the hotel owner's brain. Touch even one of the women there.
Where is humanity? How can a person be so cruel and cruel? Has the law expired in the country that a person has taken the responsibility in his hands that he will take the life?
According to Allama Iqbal:
خودی کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ہر تقدیر سے پہلے
خدا بندے سے خود پوچھے، بتا تیری رضا کیا ہے
Elevate yourself so much that before every destiny
Ask the God himself, tell him what is your pleasure.
It is important to understand the values of humanity. Being human is very, very difficult. A very heartwarming poetry that we often read in children's books:
"فرشتوں سے بہتر ہے انسان بننا
مگر اس میں پڑتی ہے محنت زیادہ"
"Being human is better than angels
But it takes a lot of work."
And another poetry:
"درد دل کے واسطے پیدا کیا انسان کو
ورنہ طاعت کے لیے کچھ کم نہ تھے کرو بیاں"
"Man was created for the pain of the heart
Otherwise, there was nothing less for obedience.
Allah has sent man as Ashraf al-Mukhaluqat (greatest creature). There is a great level of humanity. Make yourself a person whose aim is to bring peace to mankind. Be happy, share happiness.
@event-horizon, @soulfuldreamer and @patjewell are invited for constructive criticism. Thank you for your time.
You have said many things at once... I was reading along, but I did not realize that it would also mention an unjust murder. This is far beyond crossing the line of humanity. And here, we are still managing to talk about humanity in small matters... May Allah have mercy on all of us.
A very thought provoking post indeed! Albeit a sad one...
If I might give a suggestion since you have asked for it: you can use GIFs, maybe just one. But when discussing such serious matters as death, I think GIFs don't make any sense.
Thank you, friend!

Hello. You have created the best post in which you have shared the poetry of poets and the words of some people regarding humanity. In it you have asked some questions on your part and then tried to answer them. I agree that man has been made the best by Allah Ta'ala. But I will add one thing to your words. Karl Marx said. Religion is the enemy of humanity. And today the world is ruled only by religious people. Where do you see humanity in this era? Where they kill each other due to differences of opinion. Thank you very much I wish you well
Assalam-O-Alaikum @aaliarubab How are you?
Your post is very interesting. In it you have also asked different types of questions which is not easy for me.
Now as you asked the question, what does Human mean? So let me tell you that we read about humans in biology. In biology human are also call Homo sapiens. A human has all the qualities, including emotions, thoughts, experiences and comparisons.
Allah Ta'ala says about humanity in the Qur'an. Which Mafhoom is :
That whoever saved the life of one person saved the life of the entire humanity and whoever killed one person killed the entire humanity.
Best Wishes 😍 Always be happy

Miss Nerd,
It's amazing to read your posts portraying our urdu novels and poetry.
I'm the one who can't remember sher-o-shaiiri.
But you're good, is it to crack your exam right?
Raja Gidh, ahhh, it gave me a very tough time. I started it but couldn't read after a few pages due to the complexity of the vocabulary and it's concept.
Finally, i read it when i purchased it after knowing its popularity and the whole essence of the book was:
Haram khane sy insan Pagal ho jata hai
Hai na?
And good luck for your exam☺
