Habits and your future
Give me the proof that ten years from now, you won't have a serious deficiency. Give me the proof that ten years from now, you'll have more money. Give me the assurance that a few weeks from now, you won't be in jail for rape or murder.
That guy in the thumbnail smoking, if he keeps doing that, he's only increasing his chances of damage to almost every organ in his body. If he dies, you would say it's a cruel world but it could have been avoided.
You can say here's your proof Belinda and I say that's good but still leave room for the chance of mistakes happening. The proof you will give me is nothing but your habits today. That's why habits create the future.
The unpredictability of life tells me that a man can save and invest wisely and at some point have his biggest assets burned to the ground, taken from him because it was part of marital property or confiscated by the government because he mistakenly knew a friend that was involved in illegal activities and the law was not kind enough to accept the integrity of the man and added him to the criminals. There are so many innocent people behind bars.
All that I've said doesn't change the fact that the man was on the right path because of his daily habits. He was committed to applying the principles of success and he was seeing results.
I put a lot of hope in Christ to see me through the day but I don't leave my brain at home when I go out. I take it with me because I'll use it. I pray because it's good as a religious person but I will never neglect doing the physical stuff for physical results.
I know my habits make me more than I make my own habits. Which is which to you? Your habits make you or you make your habits. I'll say both.
That's why you can tell when someone will end up in a few decades assuming things take their natural course and nothing weird happens like the man I described. Anyone that gets into an Uber with a specific destination, as long as nothing happens to the car, the driver or the person to stop the trip, eventually they will arrive at that destination because they took the path minute after minute toward said destination.
Life's both predictable and unpredictable. Habits are bound to lead you somewhere and life can give you some luck or some doom.
