This is a true story of what ignorance can lead us as human beings to do to one another.

In 1600, a monk did some research and found out that if the Earth is just a world moving around the Sun, maybe the Sun has a similar fate as the stars that we see in the sky. And just maybe if those stars could have planets around them, then there's a possibility that some of the stars could also support life. He described a perfect logic but in the 1600.

Unfortunately for that monk, he was executed by being burned upside down, naked and having a block of wood driven in his mouth to ensure that he was not able to make any more claims of that kind in the afterlife. This man made an argument that we consider common sense today and was brutally murdered for saying that.

And one of his last statements was on their belief in their god. If your belief in God revolves around just this planet and life upon it and if there is other life in the universe then your God is very small. This is what he said and don't you think it's obvious now to us.

I had to wonder about this story and ask myself, if they did that to this monk, of course people these days wouldn't burn you for your argument because of how far our civilization has been enlightened but the question what is someone saying today that we think is ridiculous but hundreds of years to come, it would be the norm? It takes a lot of courage to say something like that to someone who is about to execute you for heresy.

So when people begin to question their belief system about the possibility of the existence of multiple universes, it makes perfect sense that they continue to be able to see their egos taken to new levels and to detract from their importance within the Universe. They all want to believe their super important.

It's hard for people to accept new ideas because they can feel small because of the new idea. People want to be the center of everything, right? And when we look at the stars now, we see just how small the world is compared to what we can envision. It's more than just curiosity to find out how big the world is, there's a chance that you're going to be freaked out, there's also a chance that you'll be curious.

What's your thoughts in this story and you can comment down below, stuff you think are true but people keep rejecting the claim.

Ah, I wasn’t familiar with the story of the monk who was ahead of his time. Here, however, we hear of Giordano Bruno, of Galileo Galilei – of wise men who knew things that their contemporaries were not yet able to comprehend, and who were therefore suspected of witchcraft or worse. Leonardo da Vinci was, in his day, a quirky and eccentric loner – nobody could recognise the genius back then...

Today we know a great deal more, but compared to all the knowledge out there, still a vanishingly small amount. Of course, with every new discovery, old ‘knowledge’ turns out to be flawed or simply outdated. And that’s fine! If we already knew all the answers: what goals would we still set ourselves, what would we strive for, what would we explore...?

That's a good question, having all the answers, that kind of world will be redundant in a way, boring, too easy, the adventure side gone, we know everything so what's there to do. Sad life. It's actually good we don't know it all
