See the Light

Teressa's Grief (ENG)

Several months passed by and Dagger kept visiting the imprisoned Teressa. He would ask a couple open-ended questions and then answer them as if he were asking himself. Then all he did was look at her with a mix of intrigue and admiration. Teressa would speak very little at first, but as the visits became habitual she started expecting them.

She then started talking more and more, while Dagger spoke less and less. She would complain about her imprisonment, not seeing her son, and leaving her life behind. Now it would all be about withering there until heaven took pity on her and made her disappear from this world. The cunning man, although sometimes annoyed by her complaints, did nothing but listen.

The time came and Dagger finally got closer to Teressa. Wiping her tears, he took her in his arms, and with a kiss initiated the process of becoming one. After that, Teressa was even more confused.

Her new routine saw her going to bed hopeless, although falling asleep more easily than before. She didn't see the day of light that much since she was kept enclosed in the cottage, but she got fed well enough to be satiated. Whenever her now lover came, she engaged in conversation, talking as extensively as she could and weeping some more. She shared childhood memories, chants, and tales, and for a moment everything was well until she remembered her ongoing fate. Embittered, she complained about evil.

Dagger thought it was good to take Teressa out for a walk. He took her to the meadows nearby, where, as unusual as it may sound, there were a host of daffodils, golden as light. Teressa couldn't help gazing at them with joy. She ran into the field and extended her arms while the gentle sunlight caressed her skin. There was hope.

Aaahh... The long awaited sequel ;-)) Not sure yet what it will be when it grows up - are we reading about some kind of Stockholm syndrome...?

I don't know either haha. Regarding your question, most likely it is.

Edit: it definitely is.
