A manipulative technique I must say. But should be used for good
When you want someone to think about something in a specific way to establish a mental connection, stating a fact can help create that. A simple, routine, true statements is something that can really create the connection.
Assuming I give you these two statements. "Sugar is sweet" and "if you put hot water in the cup, it will melt faster" these are two interesting implications. So then I just say nothing more.
I let you figure it out on your own. I'll give you another example.
A teacher might ask, "Do you want high marks?" Then the next thing she says is , "Those who pass, usually study at night." The answer to those is obvious to the teacher. But she makes those statements to help the students draw the conclusion that they will study at night.
But in order for you to able to do this and leave a connection to their mental faculties, the majority will need to be certain that the connection already exists. One fact that is clearly true will draw a certain conclusion, people will just go and order a sandwich from a shop if you say certain things the right way and leave them to join the two. I'm very sure companies use this as an advertisement trick.
So with teacher's trick, although some students might not get the connection, others might interpret that to mean they should study at night.
People mostly rely on the normal things they're already familiar with. So the more obvious, the more people will ignore the other. If two people are holding a loaf of bread and one person has butter, they will eventually join the two. The guy with the bread could have eaten the bread without butter, the guy with butter couldn't eat the butter without the bread, but the guy with the bread could easily share his bread for some butter and get a better bread and butter and both guys win.
I pulled this trick on my friend after learning about it. It's almost like manipulation.
I asked “do you like saving money?” then followed up with, “This product lasts you 5 years" he wanted to buy the product. This friend already likes to save like crazy. And I brought his mind to his own habit which he believes in and then said the second thing. That was it. So assuming I was advertising the product, there's a chance I could have sold it.
The greatest part of such statements is silence that follows. Most will defend the ideas they created and might even contradict others just to keep defending the idea. That's technically a vulnerability that can be used for manipulation.

When people get bored, they tend to come up with silly ideas.
There’s always something going on in the Dream Steem Community, such as the ‘Keyword of the Week’ writing competitions.
;-)))
