Advent-Contest Nr.1 ... ;-)) - Let it snow...! / Laß es schneien...!

Deutsch im Anschluß…

Hello, Dear Dreamers!

Unexpectedly early snow on the streets and roofs, the gingerbread tastes good again and the appetite for mulled wine is slowly building up... Advent is just around the corner!

Yes, it's cold and uncomfortable. So it's all the nicer when you can wrap yourself up in a cosy blanket or watch the fire in the fireplace... And do fun things on the internet, for example ;-)) Contests on the Steem always work, I've heard ;-))

So: I'm announcing four exciting Advent rounds. Literary - writerly, as it should be for the Dream Steem Community of creative, fictional writers and poets! These four competitions will be published on Fridays before each Advent weekend and will run for exactly 6 calendar days. To pay out the prizes, or rather participation prizes, we are once again using DUBby, the reward bot of the Deutsch Unplugged Community, which we have already successfully tested here.

Every participant will receive a proportionate share of the rewards for the respective announcement - taking part is everything! Of course, the best contributions will be especially recognised...

And that brings me to the kick-off round in a good mood...!

Do you know what a pleonasm is? A combination of an attribute and a noun that both have the same meaning. This results in a redundant term or something with double content... You all know examples of this: the white mould, the dead corpse, an old grandpa, a big giant, the Islamic mosque...

The exact opposite of this is the oxymoron: here are an attribute and a noun are combined with each other, which are actually mutually exclusive. I'm sure you can think of examples of this too: a mute scream, old boy, a booming silence, the unmissable invisibility...

Well, both are rhetorical stylistic devices. They fulfill different purposes, but as such are closely related.

Today I ask you to play with them: include in a story or poem both a pleonasm and an oxymoron - at least! Of course it is also allowed to escalate...!

Hallo, liebe Träumer!

Unerwartet früher Schnee auf den Straßen und Dächern, die Lebkuchen schmecken wieder und auch auf Glühwein stellt sich langsam Appetit ein… Die Adventszeit steht vor der Tür!

Ja, es ist kalt und ungemütlich. Um so schöner, wenn man sich gemütlich in eine Decke einwickeln oder dem Kaminfeuer zuschauen kann… Und dabei lustige Sachen im Internet machen, zum Beispiel ;-)) Wettbewerbe auf dem Steem gehen immer, habe ich gehört ;-))

Also: ich kündige vier spannende Adventsrunden an. Literarisch – schriftstellerisch, wie es sich für die Dream Steem Community der kreativen, fiktionalen Schreiber und Poeten gehört! Die Veröffentlichung dieser vier Wettbewerbe erfolgt jeweils freitags vor einem Adventswochenende und die Laufzeit beträgt jeweils exakt 6 Kalendertage. Für die Auszahlung der Sieges- oder besser: Teilnahmeprämien spannen wir wieder ganz vertrauensvoll DUBby ein, den Reward Bot der Deutsch Unplugged Community, den wir hier bereits erfolgreich testen konnten.

Jeder Teilnehmer erhält also anteilige Rewards der jeweiligen Ausschreibung – dabei sein ist alles! Natürlich sollen die besten Beiträge besonders gewürdigt werden…

Und damit komme ich gut gelaunt zur Auftaktrunde…!

Wißt Ihr, was ein Pleonasmus ist? Eine Kombination aus Attribut und Substantiv, die beide den gleichen Bedeutungsgehalt haben. Dadurch entsteht eine redundante Benennung oder eben etwas inhaltlich doppelt gemoppeltes… Beispiele dafür kennt Ihr alle: der weiße Schimmel, die tote Leiche, ein alter Greis, ein großer Riese, die islamische Moschee…

Das genaue Gegenteil davon ist das Oxymoron: hier werden ein Attribut und ein Substantiv miteinander kombiniert, die sich eigentlich gegenseitig ausschließen. Auch dafür fallen Euch sicher Beispiele ein: ein stummer Schrei, alter Knabe, ein dröhnendes Schweigen, die unübersehbare Unsichtbarkeit…

Nun, beides sind rhetorische Stilmittel. Sie erfüllen unterschiedliche Zwecke, sind aber als solche eng verwandt.

Heute bitte ich Euch, genau damit zu spielen: verarbeitet in einer Geschichte oder einem Gedicht sowohl einen Pleonasmus als auch ein Oxymoron – mindestens! Es darf natürlich auch eskaliert werden…!
