Introduction

Hello again my Crypto Gears...

This seventh week has been a crazy one which exceeded all my expectations. I had the opportunity not only to teach but also to learn from the students about a topic not very well known in the Crypto world.

This time a total of 162 students joined under the tag #allbert-s3week7; 82 more students if we compare it with last week. To all of you, thank you for your trust and support for my classes; I am flattered and honored.

The Class, which I titled: Blockchain Oracle, aimed to talk about the Platforms and networks that enable communication between Smart contracts and Blockchains with the external world.

As we learned in class, without this type of Oracles, the Crypto world would not be as we know it.

Different from the way of my first three classes, this assignment was purely theoretical and focused on doing in-depth research of a different Blockchain Oracle than the one explained in class. I had the pleasure of discovering very good projects which I did not know about, such as Human Potocol, Modefi, and Berry Data.

Although to be honest there are still many more to discover.

Something I learned from my University Professors, is that the knowledge that best remains rooted in our brains is the one we discover by ourselves. With this idea in mind, I proposed to conduct detailed research that had to meet the following requirements.

1-History and Description. Does it have any token or cryptocurrency associated? Explain.

2- Functionalities and real-life applications.

3- Pros and Cons.

4- Future developments and new projects.

General observations:

As we can see in the second graph the average rating again was 6.9. If we compare to last week technically it was a tie, however, we must analyze the fact that this time we added more than 100% of people who normally attend my classes; people who are just getting used to my methodology.

However, if we consider the group of frequent students in my class the improvement was notorious, with grades located between good and excellent.

On the other hand, if we consider the total population of students, the majority of the ratings were located in AVERAGE.

This also represents a slight regression, as last week the vast majority of ratings were in the GOOD range.

But as I mentioned earlier, such a setback is due in part to the large number of new submissions I received this week, submissions from students seeing a class with me for the first time. However, I have confidence that in the future we will be adapting and getting better.

As a side note, I should comment that we received several invalid entries this week (10 in total), which included incomplete postings, outside the parameters of the class and outside the submission schedule. As well as 8 cases of plagiarism.

Again I remind you that Plagiarism of any kind will be severely dealt with within the Academy.

Regarding the research, creativity played an important role as well as study. It was not just a matter of doing research on the internet, we had to have a thorough understanding of the platform and its functionalities.

Generally in the first question, almost all knew how to develop and present their Oracle, however, in the following questions, I noticed a repetitive pattern in most.

First, almost everyone chose BAND, it really doesn't bother me that most went for the same token, but I would have preferred more people to have gone for lesser-known platforms.

In fact the brave (or Mavericks) few who decided to do so I rewarded them with an extra point for originality

On the other hand in question two, many were confirmed by just adding basic ideas, however, what I was looking for was for them to explore the oracle platforms and explain their functionalities through screenshots.

Question 3 was fine in general terms. Finally in question 4, what was sought was for students to present the most recent Oracle Blockchain innovations and news.

In this part, many got my idea and took screenshots of social networks, platforms, and news to present what was new in each project.

I must say with much joy, that after 7 weeks at last I was able to receive most of the works with their images correctly referenced. I think my insistence was worth it.

Similarly, as I always say, the overall presentation of the publication plays an important role. The use of subheadings, centered, justified text, the use of separators, colored text are a factor that will make your work stand out above others... on the other hand, mishandling them will detract from their value.

Suggestions

I will start with my last recommendation from two classes ago: The goal of the Academy is to acquire new knowledge week after week and to use that knowledge to change our lives. But first, we must open our minds and our eyes and not simply limit ourselves to what we already know or think we know.

The goal of the assignment was to learn, not simply to fill out a post and answer a few questions.

Throughout a whole week of reading I could see that although there was some very good work, some was completely superficial and done with the sole intention of receiving a reward.

I want to tell you my friend, that the best reward you can take away from the Academy is the knowledge you acquire. Money gets spent, it gets corrupted and material things lose their value... but knowledge is brighter and more valuable than gold.

I once heard a slogan in my old job that said, If the rich of the world have their fortune taken away from them and given to the poor, in less than 5 years that fortune would go back to the rich... how? By education and knowledge.

What is truly valuable is the guided knowledge that we teachers give you in the Academy, this knowledge was something that changed my life... and now I want to return the favor.

TOP GEAR 3

I know I always say this...but truly this week it was even harder to pick just three winners. These students stand out not only because of the post submitted, but because they have demonstrated a love of knowledge and an exceptional mastery of the subject matter.

The top three Gears of the week are:

To those selected, congratulations and keep up the good performance. To the rest of you, don't give up, study, improve and keep trying. Next week your name may be here.

See you later my friends. Your crypto professor @allbert.
