Yes the STO is similar to ICO but one thing that makes it secure, transparent, and reliable is to go through federal regulations. The laws make the project trustworthy and this is the reason most people invest in it.

STOs has brought much more trust in cryptocurrency than anything. The issue started in 2018 when ICO bubble burst and then STO was introduced. And I think it is the best thing happened because it makes the investors less stressed and they will not fear to loss money.

You have explained the differences between STO and ICO, IPO and IEO.

The types are also described properly than even a newbie can understand. Here I want to add one thing which I found during research that there are 2 more types of STO i.e. Hybrid and Utility tokens. But it is not confirmed yet that these two are the actual types of not. I am doing searching on it and will share if found any confirmation.
