it is good to be a part of @imagen's class again this week and this time, i am going to be creating my own imaginary blockchain project but I will surely be creative and very detailed.

Project Abstract

Data is life and mobile data is the only way to connect to the internet. Middlemen in the world have proven to be a reap off in all aspects especially in the mobile data/telecommunication industry. Mobile Data Token (MDT) will be bringing a change to the world of telecommunication and will be starting with removing the middlemen so as to make sure that cost is reduced. Middlemen such as banks, and other vendors are centralized and are making a whole lot of money from the data you do.

Mobile data are very expensive but then, it can be very frustrating for a person to purchase data and have it expired without using it to their desired data bandwidth. This is where, Mobile Data Token [MDT], allows user to sell their data on the MDT marketplace to people who are willing to use it, therefore giving them access to cheap Data and allowing them to be able to sell their unused data.

MDT Work Plan

With MDT, the aim is to enable a decentralized data sharing world where users can buy, and sell data without the fear of losing that data at a little cost. Would it not be cool to be able to sell your unused data to get tokens?

Mobile Data Token will help you convert your unused data from your mobile device and sell them to large companies who are in high demand for data in exchange for MDT token which can be used to purchase data in a decentralized marketplace again. The data will be converted at a little fee which will be used to maintain the project, pay for infrastructure and purchase the tokens to be burnt for 50 months or until there are 100,000,000 MDT.

MDT team will be tasked with the goal of selling data to large corporations as well as meeting with mobile data operators so as to allow the possibility of this. Currently, we have top companies in support of this and we will be working in the United States, the EU, and in some Africa, and aim to become an international data marketplace for buying and selling of Data.

MDT Blockchain

MDT will be built on the Tron blockchain as Tron blockchain has a low latency which encourages speed. All purchase, sale, and conversion will be recorded on the blockchain thereby enabling transparency. TRON Blockchain utilized DPOS consensus mechanism which also allows users to stake MDT tokens and get rewards for staking of tokens as well as influence in governance.

Token Distribution

500,000,000 MDT tokens will be minted and will be distributed in the following way;

• 50% = Token Sale/ ICO/ IEO
• 20% = Platform Development and Infrastructure maintanance
• 15% = Marketing
• 5% = partnership
• 10% = Team member

MDT will aim at improving at every point and the development based on Roadmap will be;

Q3, 2021 - Sign Partnership deals with Data providers and Businesses
Q4, 2021 - Launching of Beta Version of Dapp

Q1, 2023 - Launching of own Decentralized Mobile Data Network
Q2, 2023 - Integrating Coin to Direct Data Purchase to buy MDT data plans.

Conclusion

Decentralizing the mobile data industry is something that I just imagined as I must confess that mobile data is very expensive in Africa and it isn't pay as you go (PAYG) instead the data can expire at a given time making it more expensive without getting utility for the data purchased. Thanks to @imagen who allowed me to test my creativity over the course of this assignment.
