Steemit Crypto Academy Feedback

in SteemitCryptoAcademy2 years ago

Hello, dear Steemit Crypto Academy family,

First of all, I was very happy to see that the Steemit team cares about the ideas of Steemit members and strives to improve the crypto academy. That's why I'm glad to give feedback. First of all, I would like to state that the criticisms I will make in this article are my personal ideas for the development of the crypto academy as a writer who tries to be as active as possible in the crypto academy.

What Crypto Academy Has Gained Me

As a beginning, I would like to tell my article what Steemit Crypto Academy has given me.

Cryptocurrency is a very interesting field these days. Since many people make money this way, its popularity has increased considerably. That's why I was curious to learn about the crypto world. I am so lucky that my path crossed with Steemit crypto academy. In this way, I gained unique knowledge about blockchains. In addition to the information I gained while reading the assignments given by the professors, I also had detailed information through the research I did to complete the assignments. I am sure that if I had tried to explore the world of blockchain myself, I would not have learned in such an organized way. Most likely, my research would have been superficially limited to technical analysis. Along with the crypto academy, I had the chance to do fundamental analysis in detail. The critical sentence here is detailed for me. Because without these assignments, I would have just read and passed the subject in a superficial way. But within the scope of homework, I do hours of reading and research. I learn about the subject I am researching as if I were an expert on that subject.

Being the first introductory courses in SCA was very useful for me with zero knowledge. In this way, I learned the most basic concepts for a blockchain and later started beginner courses. Having this concept is very useful for a beginner. You will appreciate that not everyone is at the same level and the introductory lessons have been very useful for someone who wants to start learning. It's a warm-up lap for the crypto academy. Otherwise, it would be difficult for me to start dynamic lessons without learning the basic concepts.

Thanks to the knowledge I learned in the crypto academy, I now have a command of most blockchains. In this way, when investing, I prefer blockchains that I have already done detailed research about.

On the other hand, it is possible to stay up-to-date in the blockchain world as the topics are renewed every week. Blockchains are the technology of the future and there is very serious competition between these blockchains. For this reason, new technology is emerging every day. As far as I can see, professors follow these new technologies and generally choose current topics. In this way, we can stay up to date on blockchains by following crypto academy assignments.

Criticisms About Crypto Academy

Before I begin my criticism, I must state that. I will continue to be a writer here as long as Crypto Academy lasts, but some decisions made by the administration worry me.

One of the issues that bother me most is the sudden decision-making and the disregard for the opinions of the users. That's why I think the current feedback is very valuable. For example, to give an example, the reward for intermediate-level assignments at the start of season 4 was SC02X2. In the middle of the season, this bounty rate has been reduced to SC02X1.5. The sudden change of the rate announced at the beginning of the season in the middle of the season bothered me. I think this situation could have waited until the end of the season.

Also, when entering the 5th season, the conditions for being able to do the Steemit Academy homework have been made quite aggravated. Even though the rule of 150 SP from the previous month does not affect me, I am aware that many users cannot do homework due to this. I also think that such a rule change should be notified at least 1 month in advance. In this way, users would act accordingly. But the sudden announcement of such a rule change at the beginning of the season bothered me. This sudden change undermines users' trust in SCA.

Another issue is Club5050. I understand the importance of Club5050 for Steemit, but here are the issues I mentioned above. Club505 news was announced at the beginning of the week and the writers were caught unprepared for this situation. It may be fair to deduct points from users who do not comply with club5050 here. However, it seems unfair that users who do not comply with Club5050 receive 0 directly from the assignment. Because finishing a properly prepared homework takes around 8-10 hours at best. That is to say, almost a working day. It's unfair to ignore so much effort at once.
There is another issue that I should mention here. While professors read the assignments, 1 point is allocated for Club5050, and at the same time, users who do not comply with club5050 get 0 assignments. So in this case, it is not necessary to have club5050 on the scoreboard. O 1 point can be used as another evaluation criterion.

Apart from these, another issue that challenges me is that we are sometimes asked to do a certain amount of trading on assignments. Generally, this amount is around 10 USD. Yes, this is a pretty good idea for writers to practice. However, for many of the authors here, 10 USD is a serious amount. If we were in a country that earns dollars, this amount would seem very low to us. However, for example, in Turkey, which is my country, one USD is approximately 13.5 TL. So in this case, I need to make a trade of 135 TRY for homework. This amount may not always be in my wallet and this is a challenge from time to time. Not being able to withdraw money in order to comply with Club5050 makes this situation even more difficult. Paper trading can be used for this case at least. There are professors who have already done this. But real trading creates difficulties for users of countries with low purchasing power.

Another criticism is that some professors do not present assignments in English, which can sometimes cause problems. Because even if we use the translate tool, sometimes sentences can lose meaning. This may cause some misunderstandings. For this reason, I believe that all assignments should be submitted in English, the universal language.

Finally, I am aware of the Steemit team's strict approach to plagiarism. While I am pleased with the zero tolerance for plagiarism, I can sometimes see authors who do homework plagiarize especially images. I believe that professors can work harder against plagiarism in this regard.

Conclusions

As a result, although I have made many criticisms of SCA in this article, it is a community that I am glad to be a part of. With the education I received here, I have gained unique knowledge about blockchains and I am aware of the value of this education. But I also reported my criticisms so that SCA could go further. The fact that this feedback were requested from the users also pleased me and made me feel that the SCA team values the opinions of the users. I hope that SCA will continue to exist successfully in the next process.

Thank you for reading

Thank you😇

for many of the authors here, 10 USD is a serious amount.

It doesn't make sense to spend 10 dollars on a transaction, when you have to leave half of what you earn in power up, due to the 50/50 rule.

I have not given my feedback, I just want to complain about how exaggeratedly long the tasks are, with 10 questions, even once we were asked to upload a song to a platform

god bless you

Definetly agree with you. Good luck to you

I wish I had read this earlier. I powered up earlier this evening. It might take a week before I earn $10 in Steem (although the price is plummeting). If you want, I can send it over to you.

Dear David,

Thank you very much, this beautiful offer made me emotional, you are really very kind. but the issue I want to mention here is that making transactions for assignments puts many users in a difficult situation. I think paper trading can be done in assignments instead of real trading.

but thank you again

There are free crypto trading simulators that could be used. If the instructor would reference his favourite, then the students' experience would be consistent.
