Sometimes when I feel alone, I think about what would have happened to my life if I had died without Christ. I consider that it would be something very painful and regrettable, since we have the knowledge that "the wages of sin is death." This leads me to consider that I was in a horrible and terrible place called "Sheol" where are all the souls who have left this world without Christ.
Well, the word teaches us that "God shows his love for us." How did God have compassion on us? The word says that "Christ died for us."
The place of us sinners was the cross, however, Christ took our place to fulfill the will of God, which consisted in delivering his only Son on a cross out of love for sinners.
Without Christ we would be dead in our trespasses and sins. The blood of Christ on the cross redeemed us from all curses and sins to reconcile us to our heavenly Father.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
This verse is key and important to understanding God's compassionate love for humanity. The gesture of love came from God and not from any work that man did to merit salvation.
It was something decisive in the heart of God to give forgiveness to man through his faith in Jesus Christ.
Everyone who receives Christ as Savior in his heart also receives the Father. Christ is received by faith and this gives the believer the power to be called the son of God.
But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12
Every word we quote shows God's compassionate love and this should fill us with great joy knowing now that we are God's children simply by believing and receiving Christ as the savior of our soul.
Honestly, it is something extraordinary that should fill the heart of every believer with unspeakable joy in knowing that the Holy Spirit bears witness that we are children of God.
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Romans 8:16
I invite you, beloved brother, to deepen God's compassionate love for humanity.
