The day of anguish is a difficult time, of suffering and pain. It is a bad day of worries and many negative thoughts that surround your head. It is like a day of persecution to the death.
A day of anguish is like when you receive the news of a terminal illness that the doctor diagnoses you.
One day of anguish we had to live as a family when the doctor told my mother: her son has died.
It was a completely desperate day, my mother fell to the ground in a faint for a long time and my father not knowing what to do.
When you have to face the day of anguish, you have to fall into the arms of the Lord, because in no one else there is strength that can lift you up.
The Bible says:
God is our refuge and strength, our ready help in tribulations. Psalm 46: 1 KJV

That is what God represents in the day of trouble: refuge, strength, help in tribulations.
God is my refuge. God is the safe place I have when the bad day comes. When the fierce storms of life come and hit you and sweep you away without hope, God gives us a safe place to wait for the storm to pass.
Many days passed since the death of my older brother and the whole family was under the protection of God. They were days of seeking the Lord, days in which we surrendered with great courage and humility at the feet of Christ and the Lord gave us enough strength to overcome the bad and anguishing day that had befallen us.
We take refuge in God's shadow until the days of trouble fade and we grow strong in the Lord and return to daily life with new experiences and strength in the Lord.
