I really can’t ascertain what your opinion is about this; but I make bold to declare that true honor is rooted in God’s Word. If you seek to be rooted in the Word of God; you will enjoy the privilege of being decked in life with the honor that cannot be molested. God has vowed to honor His Word above His name. staying with the Word of God is learning to stay honored in life. God’s honor is on His Word, so it is with God’s watchfulness over our lives. Scriptures affirm: that He watches over His Word to perform it. One potent way to secure God’s watch over your life is to get hooked unto God’s Word. If He watches over His Word, it invariably means that His eyes are on all them that are hooked unto His Word. If you have set your business to be ruled by the principles of God’s Word; it is certain that God has His eyes on your business, because His eyes are on His Word.
Seeking to be ruled by the principles of God’s Word is seeking to ply the path of true honor. When David embarked on a mission to get the ark into the city of David; he appointed people who were not Levites to convey the ark and he got a brand new cart to transport the ark. The mission turned out to be ill fated and David was greatly embarrassed. When they got to the threshing floor of Nacon, the cart conveying the ark shook, with the ark gliding for a fall. Uzziah put forth his hand to prevent the ark from falling and the anger of God was kindled against him and the Lord smote him and he died. David became scared and he abandoned the project. He carried the ark into the house of Obededom for safe keeping.
As David wondered why they encountered such a serious level of calamity and embarrassment; he traced it to the fact that they did not follow the order prescribed in God’s Word for handling the ark. God works with us on the basis of His Word. You can’t guarantee His honor when you step out of the principles of His Word to do your own. David confessed that they were stripped of God’s honor; because, they failed to follow the due order prescribed by His Word. The ark was to be borne on the shoulders of Levites and not on a cart driven by horses. They retraced their steps and aligned themselves with God’s Word and God honored their mission. Stay aligned with God’s Word and secure His honor upon your life.
