BE THANKFUL
One great expectation of the Lord is that mankind, whom He created in His image and likeness, will be thankful for the His good works to them. It is sad that from age to age man has been unthankful. This is even more worse in this end time. From Luke 17:11-19, we can see how expectant the Almighty God is for us to show gratitude whenever He does us good. Our Lord Jesus Christ, who came to demonstrate to us the character of the Father, let us know the expectation through His reaction when only one leper came back to give thanks even though ten were healed.
When we fail to thank the Lord for who He is and for the things He had done for us, we rob Him of His rightful glory and honor. For sure, unthankfulness is an act of robbery against the Almighty God. It is also dangerous, in the light of the fact that your joy can't be full if you are unthankful. The ten lepers that were healed, the only one we can consider having received the fullness of joy is the one who came back to give thank God because the Lord Jesus crowned his healing with wholeness.
There is another level to being thankful to the Lord, which has to do with our gratitude for what He did for us when He gave His only begotten Son to redeem us. The only way to demonstrate our appreciation for this gift is to accept His gift of salvation, which is free for us but which costs the life of the Lord Jesus. We must accept this offer with all our heart and with gratitude because there are consequences for rejecting it.
The most profound appreciation we can show the Almighty God, for all the things He has done for us, is to accept the Lordship of Jesus Christ and to live in accordance with what He taught in the Bible.
